Desky Vs Zen Space Desks

Hi folks

I want to choose a sit standing desk for myself with dual motor system. I am puzzled between two of the below and I want to know which one should I go with?

After a bit of research, I have finally narrowed down my options for my standing desk which I am really keen on buying as soon as possible (due to the EOFY sale).

https://www.zenspacedesks.com.au/product/zen-professional-st… (180 cm) + Cable Management Tray - $496.90
https://desky.com.au/products/dual-melamine-sit-stand-desk (180 cm) + Cable Management Tray - $858

Despite the fact that Zen Space Desks are cheaper, they are not available until August as they are taking backorders. After reading it here, I have realised that I shouldn't just go and book something which I may not get for months. However, Desky is available from today and can be delivered this week.

Also, I am not really sure about the customer service of both, I heard some people found Desky well while some had a few challenges as compared to UpDown desks.

Just curious which one should I go with? Appreciate your help.

UPDATE: I just fixed 1800cm to 180cm. Apologies.

Do you need it now or can you wait until August?

    • I can wait till August, @tabz

I bought from Zen Desk. Their shipping was not great (from a despatch timeframe). Their website says ships within 24 hours but they acknowledged they had too many order and not enough staff.

I actually think the desks from Zen and Desky are the same, just they put their own branding on it. If you can wait, I would go with the Zen as its cheaper and it is pretty solid. The underneath cable management tray is also very handy. I only got the single motor version which I regret as I wish I got the dual motor.

Overall, not that hard to put together either.

    • Whats the difference between the single and dual motor?

      • Dual motor is faster and less likely to burn out than a single motor.

Bought a Zendesk a couple years ago - Postage was a bit long but it was during a sale. But its been a great desk.

Thanks folks. You've solved a puzzle for me. I get that idea. Yes, I can wait till August.

  • Have a look at Lazy Maison's standing desks, I'm quite happy with our dual motor desk from them.

    • They do not have a 180 cm variant.

    I have a desky.
It's great. I have mounted my own 2m desk on-top that the wife and I share

There is a limitation to the cable management system. I can't remember what it was but if you stretch the desk to its widest setting it doesn't fit. Ifl think. Double check as we had to return the cable management

    Otherwise great deal

    They're on a 50% off sale atm.

I bought a Zen Space Expert 2.0 gaming desk (180cm) which comes with the ergo top, cable management bar and 8 port power - second hand from somebody who was moving overseas and who had it for about a year and a half. I've had mine close to a year now and it's AMAZING, I love it! Really solid build, smooth motor, stable and really quiet. I reached out to Zen Space Desks customer service when buying accessories from them and they were brilliant. The difference between gaming desk and the regular - surface allows you to use a mouse without having to use a deskpad

I have just ordered one for my partner for Father's Day on the 50% off sale as he LOVES mine (will arrive August), and have gotten the exact same desk new for about $50 more than I paid second hand for mine.

Highly recommend the Zen Space Desks @TheBotman, go for it!

Cheers @Misheemee, I did order Zen Space Desks :)

      • Great news - Congrats, you’ll love it!! 🥳

  • Zen desk customer service is terrible. In my opinion, do not buy from them.

    • Unfortunately I have already gone with them. I can see that their customer service is terrible. There's no doubt about it as they have already delayed the orders.

      • Wait until you're unfortunate enough to have to message one of their offshore support people.

  • UPDATE: I just wanted to keep everyone posted on this one. Despite their delays in delivering the desk, they did finally send one. I found the quality quite premium and it's been more than 5 months now that I did not face a single issue with the desk. My setup is a bit heavier but I can see that the desk is strong and does not have any weak components in it. I would recommend it if you can secure any deal, which I did for EOFY.

  • Zen Space Desks has gone out of business

    • Yeah, I noticed. Very strange of them. I hope I don't get into a situation of claiming anything.

      • I had my desk from them for over a year . No issues so far and thw quality is immaculate. It is sad that they shutdown.

Just tried contacting them as my desk keeps stopping on the way down, and I tried resetting several times.

Email and domains are gone. Shame really. Desk quality otherwise is pretty good.
