I get this message everytime I login. Then I have to get an email, copy paste code, etc
It seems so over the top.
This is a bargain website forum, not Citibank.
Can I disable this behaviour? I don't care if my login is hacked tbh, and I doubt anyone is actively trying.
Unusual Login Attempt, 2fa etc

Little OzHack, you can use the hyphen and it will autofill the user ID & anyone can access their own profile
eg

Thank you. Not sure how i missed that option.
It doesn't matter that this is a bargain website. Bots can take over accounts without 2FA and post spam and scams.
If you are disabling all Two-factor authentication, at the very least make sure your password on Ozbargain is not being used on other sites — password re-use is the prime reason people's accounts get taken over by hackers.
I know we are not a banking site but other users can still suffer serious financial harm if your account is used by a fraudster (since people often have trust in older & active accounts)
For me it's more frustrating when you leave your home's wifi and it locks you out AFTER already being logged in. I can only imagine how annoying this is for people that use mobile internet exclusively.
This is my situation.

You'll be surprised. People have had their ozb account hacked and hacker started selling gift cards and not delivering.

Honestly……. We are talking about online security, 2FA isn't that much of an inconvenience.

That might be true, but some harm can be done.

Oh yeah, sure, like you would think no one would be trying Iconic, yet, it happened. OzBargain is a huge site, so I am sure it could be happening. It was DDOS'd not too long ago.

How I wish some banking apps / sites actually utilise 2FA…
It’s for security…
If your still adamant on turning it off you can untick the email based 2FA box here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/-/edit/security
(Mod: Edited to dynamic link).
