Fisher and Paykel 7.5 kg Front Loading Washing Machine Error 37

Hi all, I am having a repetitive issue with my 7 year old Fisher and Paykel 7.5 Kg Front Loading washing machine. Almost every cycle, after the first rinse the machine stops and shows Error 37.

The troubleshoot that I do is turn off the machine and turn it back on. Change the dial either to Rinse Cycle or Spin Cycle and this time it finishes the wash. I already checked and cleaned the bottom filter couple of times.

Has anyone encountered this issue before and was able to fix it?

  • Might be something deeper inside, try use chopstick to see if you can pull anything out?

    • Will try but as i said as soon as I reset it it finishes the wash so bit confused with that too

Thank you Boomramada. Looks like Google and YouTube might be making you redundant on answering questions on the Ozbargain helpdesk.

I see no future where posts here will start with Google first. Safest job in the world.

    • I have done that the fist time i seen the error. I have seen somewhere they the pump needs to be opened and cleaned so thats why i am trying to see if any one has done it or aware about it

So like every search result that pops up?

From the search results a lot of people have done it.

        • one or two videos but not the same exact model thats why i was trying to see if anyone with the same model had same issue.

I have the same washing machine and have recently had that exact error. I pulled apart the bottom following a youtube video and nothing appeared to be trapped inside. I suspect the pump has failed, so i just ordered a new pump from ebay for $20 which should be arriving in about a week. It looks very easy to replace based on the video i watched. Apparently the pumps are prone to having issues when they get to around 10+ years old which is about the age of mine.

Here is the video i watched which was easy to follow for me. Hope that helps

A Mr Washy Washy vid helped me fix our washing machine after my mother in law decided our curtains needed to be washed, but didn’t remove the metal curtain rail clips before running them through the machine. It was making a horrible grinding sound, but has worked fine after I partially took it apart and managed to remove the eight clips stuck inside.

His name always reminds me of this scene though:

Good luck with the fix OP!

What did google say when you tried to lookup the error code?

    • blocked pump

      • Did you try unblocking the pump?

        • i will try what Brusky suggested. i didnt find that video before so coudnt try

  • @Fuzzy69 did you solve the error? My washing machine has just started doing the same. I replaced the pump a year or so ago (just a cheap one from eBay so perhaps it's playing up?)
