The Makita utility knife (includes 10 blades) stood out to me, the cheapest I could find it anywhere else was $18.90 so I picked one up.

This also looked handy and again the cheapest I could find it.

Looks fine. I have this one and it's bulletproof https://www.bunnings.com.au/trojan-folding-utility-knife_p57…

So I guess a deal + brand name appear

    • Not all Trojans are bulletproof. 🍆

This is a great utility knife.

The Milwaukee Fastback is thr best though, and I'm all Makita in power tools.

      • I was choosing between the Milwaukee and this a few weeks ago when replacing a lost trojan knife. Went with the milwaukee and no regrets

    • I have the same one in my tool box - for the money it’s actually great value. Some of the other Trojan items are a little hit and miss.

  • I grabbed a couple of these on a clearance once, they are really good quality and feel solid. The button lock is nice too.

    CAUTION LEFT HANDERS
When using this you fingers push the blade release button when holding it with a left hand.

Fastback 1505 still the best utility knife in my honest opinion for jobssites

Just note, these type of utility knives are banned from most big worksites as they can be very dangerous and cause a lot of hand injuries.

    • because it folds?

      • I will assume it doesn’t auto-retract.

Recommend everyone to get one of these and keep them securely in your bag when you are in the public.

  • Whats so good about this style vs a standard snap off blade style?

    • +2

They have different applications, this one can be used for heavier duty jobs and use different types of blades.
