Sydney - Cost Effective Blackout Curtains That Includes Measure, Install, etc

Just wondering if anyone can recommend place who can measure, made and install blackout curtains?
Looking for economy solution. Would Spotlight be the best in that case?
Or anyone recommend if there is another provider.

There are 4 windows.

    • Thanks

    • Do you know if they do the measure and install service as well? can't tell from their website

  • If you're savvy enough, Bunnings roller blinds are usually marked down a bit with box damages.

We did a few rooms, cut to suit and work exactly as intended.

  • Used https://www.alilacurtains.com.au/ twice for blackout curtains and roller blinds and had a good experience with them. They came to measure and install and were a lot cheaper than larger stores. Worth getting a quote from them

    • Thanks. Just curious how much did it cost you for the blackout curtains including install?
      Trying to get a gauge.

      • Sorry I don't remember, but it probably depends on which type of material you want and whether you wanted a s-wave curtain versus just a normal one

I have these and they are great. 5 years old and still going strong. I’ve run them through my washing machine (it’s on the hand wash cycle and I have a very very gentle machine) and they have been fine.

Unless you have a non standard window or are after something fancy, you don’t need a custom solution

I remember reading in forums the most economical (but not prettiest) option was to buy car sunshades from Kmart and then stick them to your windows. It's not a very tidy solution and there will possibly be gaps.We did try this and realised it's only suitable in a pinch (eg when on holiday/visiting friends and needing to black out room for baby to sleep).

In our own home, we ended up getting them done professionally by a guy on Airtasker called Henning (https://www.instagram.com/henningbasson) and he was excellent. We got all our rooms done, and then when we moved home, we called him back. Highly recommend but you'll need to check you are in his area. Whilst we did contemplate trying to DIY, we're glad we didn't because even though the window looked standard, it turned out there was a bit of a visual trick where it looked even but when you measured the height which the blinds would be, it was materially different from one side to the other.

    • Thanks for sharing. This is perfect. This is exactly what I was after as well.

I'll ask him if he can do the installation of those Amazon based curtains

Glad to hear. He’s a good guy! I appreciated him coming out to measure and quote and then do everything needed to install it etc.
