  • Is it better than iPhone 14?

    • -5

      How could it be?

      • +13

It's a dedicated camera that doesn't have to fit into the small body of a phone, it's got motorized stabilization. What's unreasonable of the possibility it could be better?

(It's not in this case unfortunately)

        • +1

          It's $100

  • +1

    Sensor size is just average

  • Awesome, was looking for something akin to the Feiyu or DJI pocket for an upcoming trip but didn't like the small screens. This price is awesome.

https://youtu.be/Yc_oFZpqe8k?t=1628 - good price but review not great…

    • +6

All reviews are based on when this valued at $200. At $89 they will all have different opinions.

    • +1

I just watched the same review and was going to post the same.

    • image actually looks okay for $89, but holy shit the gimbal is absolute garbage.
It's also pretty terrible in low light.

  • I’ve watched the reviews, I can adjust the picture in editing.

I’m really just looking for something to use as a time lapse camera for tattooing.

I think this will be fine until I get a new iPhone, my iPhone hasn’t got enough memory.

    • I've used GoPro's for decent time lapse.

  • +13

This day and age, if you have to carry a separate device (ensuring it's full charged and to deal with the hassle of media transfer), it better outperform (in a big way) the phone you are already carrying.

    • +13

You are right. You are also smart and handsome.

  • +3

Geez watching the Techmoan review of this now and looking at the footage, you wouldn't be able to tell this is a gimbal.

I have an Osmo Pocket 1 with wide angle lens and it's buttery smooth in comparison.

    • I mean, the Osmo does cost 3x-5x more than this one…

      • +4

I agree it costs more but for a product that markets itself as a stabilised gimbal camera, the footage from this looks like it's been shot in a hurricane.

  • Can the screen be closed to record to save battery?

  • Regardless the price, seems DJI pocket 2 is still a better choice in performance overall?

    • +1

      Also SIX times more expensive.

Thanks. Discord heard it first :)

Do you think this would be a good "walking" camera when not holding but stick to your chest, like most streaming camera right now?
I want to record my hiking walk for example when my hands are busy, of course I could get action camera but $90 is rather cheap compared to the high end one in market.

    • Following as I'm after a chest/helmet outdoor action camera .

  • Thanks, got one for the kids Christmas present.
Any recommended 256gb memory card to go with it?

  • Would this be a good camera to take high quality videos at home (baby/pets etc) or is this better suited for outdoors?

    • +4

I think if you already have a phone from within the last 5 years, that'll take plain photos/videos just as good as this would.

      • +1

If not better, looking at the jittery footage on YouTube reviews.

      • Thanks bud

  • is this going to get you better video that whats already in your pocket?!

    • …or are you just happy to see me

  • +3

    Buy cheap, buy twice.

    • If you are buying to be your main, then yes.

  • Bought for the kids to muck around with at home.

DJI Osmo Pocket 2 is like 6 times the price…

Also got the gimbal for the smart phone for $40.

  • Is this good GoPro alternative that we can use for outdoors sports like mountain biking/kayaking? Are there attachments for attaching the camera to the chest or helmet? Thanks

    • Stick with the GoPro.

      • Yeah the GoPro Hero is $500 though…..

        • GoPro is waterproof and shockproof.

          • @bbtlovebbt: Thanks I'll give this deal a miss. Are there cheaper GoPro alternatives in the $200-250 range thats waterproof and shockproof? If not I'll wait for black friday GoPro sales.

  • never heard of this one before any good? I wouldn't think it would be for 89 bucks.

  • does this let you film in a dlog mode or flat colour mode? I usually colour grade all my footage in post.

I ordered it and paid it, I thought it won't be too bad, but 3 review videos I saw give me the feeling that I'm going to buy a junk so I have cancelled and got a refund. It was extremely hard to contact Ted online by phone so I used of Ted online chat and cancelled to get a refund straight away. Great experience of Ted online chat~!

Deterioration of video recording and not well function of gimbal, few different beeping during the recording with not very clear voice recording according to reviews make this not worth to purchase.

    • I did the same. Bought it at an impulse and later checked the reviews. The fact that the mic volume is too low and the clicking sounds need to be edited out and no tripod thread put me off. Cancelled via chat. Bought the gimble for 30$ instead for the phone.
