Xbox and Quest 3 with Ultimate Game Pass

Can someone confirm regarding Xbox ultimate game pass if I set it up with my account with an Xbox x, Xbox one and quest 3 all these devices can use it? I take in regards to the quest 3 that the person who be able to access the library of all games through the ultimate pass and play them on the quest 3.
Would they be using a Xbox controller or the ones provided with quest 3.

I may also be right but can only one device be played at once under that one account so if someone used Xbox x and say quest 3 only one person at one time.

I just did a quick test myself, had a cloud game streaming on Quest 3, then started up an installed gamepass game on PC, then started up another cloud game on mobile, no issues getting all 3 started (though the quality in the quest 3 did suffer a little when I got the mobile game started)

Edit: I'll add that I connected an xbox controller directly to quest to play though bluetooth, very quick and easy process

Little confused there so how does quest 3 work with game pass you can play any game on the game pass or just cloud ones?
So if your connected to this it does not have to be a pc where does quest 3 get it from as my pc is not a gaming pc but we would have Xbox one and Xbox x where does q3 get the games from.
I know the q3 works on gaming pc as we not got that gaming pc can the q3 work as a standalone with the game pass thing I’m not sure exactly how it works.

Pending on your answers above question so your saying if son used the game pass and daughter was on q3 it might be but of an issue.

I was lead to believe regardless of game pass set up on whatever devices only one can be played at once.
And did you say it’s an Xbox controller you use when playing game pass games thanks

      • Gamepass on Quest 3 is just through cloud, same as mobile. You can't install gamepass games onto the quest.

If you have a PC, you could potentially install the gamepass games on that and stream it to the Quest using Virtual Desktop. I don't know if this would be possible using an xbox console.

If your son is using a gamepass game installed on his xbox, your daughter will also be able to play another gamepass game on her quest through the cloud, even if they are connected to the same gamepass account, going by my tests. If they have different xbox accounts, then it will definitely be fine too.

I know from experience with steam, that if you try playing a game on 2 different devices at the same time, you will be kicked out of the game on one of them. This didn't happen to me with my gamepass account just now.

And yes, on the quest I played using an xbox controller connected through bluetooth

        • Ok so let’s say I set up the Xbox x for myself and add game pass and as main account, I may use it occasionally, I set it up or should I say it already is on Xbox one for son and he can use in another room.
Obviously I don’t have game pass as it expired about 5 months ago.

And your telling me that I can even set up game pass on the pc as well? It’s not a gaming pc and does pc need to be on for quest 3 to connect and work?
          Does it connect by wifi?

I be interested to know if I did get game pass and installed on pc as you say how the process work for daughter to play games as from the game pass.
I am aware you can’t keep or buy games but is all games on game pass classeed as cloud?
I know when I had game pass before that you could play game pretty much right away called cloud and other you had to download to use.

Obviously I not got game pass yet and daughter has not got q3 yet as it’s Xmas gift.
But I’m not used to gaming through a pc it’s not a games pc and was just curious how it connected to pc playing games.

You said Xbox controller was done with Bluetooth was this to the q3.

          • @bwatt72: If you don't have a gaming PC, it wouldn't be worth setting up to stream from PC to Quest 3, you need a bit of horsepower for that to be a worthwhile experience. So forget all about that part for now.

For anything xbox related, you need an Xbox account first and foremost. Then you can activate the game pass subscription on it.
You may also want to consider if your kids want to have their own accounts which will track their own progress in games, and not be lumped into one.
If so, they will each need their own game pass subscription too.

If you have Game Pass Ultimate (required for cloud streaming), you have a few options on how to play the games available on the Game Pass library, this includes installing on Xbox consoles (One, Series X/S), installing on PC, and playing through Cloud (which requires no download, just streaming the game directly to your devices through the internet like netflix).
Playing on Quest 3 or Mobile devices, you can only use the Cloud method.

The available library of games can be different based on the method. Not all games are available on Cloud, some don't work on Xbox One, only Series X/S.

You don't keep games from Game Pass, but they usually offer a discount if you want to buy them while they are available on Game Pass.
Most of them will eventually leave the service, unless they are games from Microsoft Studios.
I don't believe you can stream your own games at this stage though when using the Cloud, only games on Game Pass.

You said Xbox controller was done with Bluetooth was this to the q3. Yes

  • Ok stream is just another method to use on q3 that’s why I had to mention I had a non gaming pc, I use consoles mostly for that.

I know anything xbox related needs a game pass I had it in past and but expired about 4 months ago I got it cheap back then but not so cheap these days.

When I had game pass was only selected games if I remember which you could play on cloud which was playable almost right away and ones you had to do some download to play them.
So what exactly can you play from a game pass set up on Xbox with a q3?
As I seen the advert that this was now available to play games on the q3.

I understand what you mean on games if setting up different accounts for each person but why as that be very costly x3 game pass accounts of $191 plus each per year.
When it be cheaper to set up the one account on all three devices xbox x, Xbox one and quest 3. We probably just need to make sure we are not all trying to use at same time.

So on what you mentioned only cloud gaming offered through game pass only works on q3 nothing else I can’t remember if there was even much cloud stuff available to begin with.

My son has a switch and into Mario etc as every young kid does but he is starting to get into Xbox as well.as I have upgraded to xbox x he and daughter if she wants can share the use of it.
Only problem most of my Xbox games are more adult themed related only a selected few kids ones.

So getting the game pass would be good for son and daughter for more kid friendly games but also good fir daughter on the cloud gaming on q3 and yes me on Xbox x.
So I take it’s easy to play the cloud games on the q3 and how.

    • I believe this is all the games you can play on cloud right now.
      https://www.xbox.com/en-au/play/gallery/all-games

For Quest 3 you just need to download the Game Pass app on the Quest shop, it's free and quick to install.
From the app, you just log in to your xbox account, then select the game you want to play and off it goes.

      • Ok cool a lot more cloud games than I expected then, at least if she is not using free games or demo games or purchases games from meta then she has options to pay the Xbox stuff on cloud as well when we get game pass
