If you are willing to buy through Amazon Germany (no experience with their packaging), this is a decent deal (outside of eBay sellers).

Update Amazon customer service couldn't confirm that these are New not that they are recertified/refurbished.
For those not willing to take a risk, I've updated the title to Refurbished.

    Wunderbar

  • Beware some reviews stated they were reconditioned/refurbished NAS drives.

Yeah interesting that it's not listed as recertified or refurbished, and sold by Amazon themselves, not third party.

      • Bit deceptive there. Nothing wrong with recertified/refurbished NAS drive but they should have stated so in their listing so people know what they are getting.

I'm asking Amazon, will report back with what they say

@eototo: OMG 😱, Amazon has been most useless.
I'm going to have to update the title to Refurbished, as they can't confirm 😞.

    Looks like a reburished drive

The ASIN for it is B09G8JLRZ5

Which when you to to Amazon.be its listed as refurb https://www.amazon.com.be/-/en/IronWolf-Internal-3-5-inch-ST… Which is inline with the Seagate drive price as a refurb unit which is listed correctly. If your going refurb this is much cheaper from the same source https://www.amazon.com.au/Seagate-Enterprise-Hyperscale-7200…

Ebay also have these listed as new. 370. Next day delivery. All stock dated 2021. So most of the warranty period would be used. Depsite saying new stock. Its cerified by seagtae. Most likely a return that they can not say iand resell at original cost.

Just do a h2w test and your gtg imo. Else return it.

Ebay also have 20% on refurb items. Unfort the sellers still listed these as brand new

    • “your gtg“ - what is that?

        Good to go.

  • What even is a "refurbished" hard drive?

  • Regardless that these are refurbished (which I wouldn't touch) it'd be great to see some proper deals on even higher capacity drives. 18TB would be excellent.

  • pretty decent and considering it's from amazon officially it's a safe buy
