Recommendations on Ratchet Spanners Set

I am after some ratchet spanner recommendations.

I saw that Supercheap have the Stanley Ratchet Spanner Set Metric 12 Piece on special for $99.99 down from $169.99

Looking for quality without breaking the bank or donating a kidney.

  • I got this sidchrome set for about $40 from an ozbargain post. I'm impressed by the quality. Keep an eye out for future specials.

    Edit: it was $60

    • One hell of a Bargain for sure! Thanks.

  • I got a gear wrench set someone on here posted a deal for years ago. It’s very good stuff

Nah not that one - I got mine years before that one. I have the flex head ones

  • I only have one spanner. I just fold up bits of cardboard and wedge it in there to make it work on smaller bolts.

  • I've had this Bahco set for a few years, used it heaps and can't fault it.

  • What are you using it for?

Someone bought a set of bunnings rubbish craftright ones for work. They are fine for occasional light jobs. Wouldnt want to rebuild a car with them though.

    • Pole Brackets that are pretty long and sick of using a spanner all the time and reposition it. So they would be used fairly often.

I bought some of the Craftright stuff and I just keep breaking the tools, so would rather spend a little bit more.

    Ironically, I have been a mechanic for over 30 years… and I still don’t own a set of ratchet spanners… I don’t know why I don’t…

    • Might change your life

    • only time I've used the cheapie set I bought years ago is for the spark plug on my GasGas. Verrry tight access other than fingers and can't use regular spanner as can't rotate far enough to reposition open ended spanner on it again (even flipping spanner over), friggin Spanish engineers

      • MX, Enduro or one of those weird arse trial bikes?

        • 2013 EC300R. Bought new, rarely ridden unfortunately. Way too much grunt for me but that's part of the fun
          .

          • @Nugs: Nice one. 300 2T can definitely be a handful.

            • @Muzeeb: Bit of a step up from the old trusty DR350
              .

              • @Nugs: That is night and day. I love 2T but I love engine braking more so leave that stuff to my son.

    • I already posted that, unless I stuffed up the link since I used the notification link?

      • I get a 404 when clicking on your link which is why I posted it

        • I thought that might be the case.

    • I saw this last night late and now out of stock….. bugger!
