Australian Dental Council (ADC) Exam

Hello everyone, just curious, anyone here have any experience or knowledge of Australian Dental Council exam?

My sister has got through her written exam and now preparing for her practical exam. She’s a full time practicing dental surgeon based overseas and wants to know any recommendations in buying all the items for home setup from One Dental as apparently ADC sources most of the items from them. For familiarity and ease during her actual exam we are planning to get her a similar set up. But there are ~250 items on the portal and getting all of them is impracticable and also a costly affair.

If there are any recommendations or if any of you have any of those tools from your past exam/s and are willing to sell or any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated please.

  • Do dental students need to bring in their own tools or whatever to the exam? Or does she just want to get a chance to practice with those tools for the exam?

    • This is all for her preparation for the exam. ADC will have a full simulation setup ready for candidates to perform during the exam. It’s very strict and no, they are not allowed to bring anything during their exam besides their IDs and lunches in see through bags or plastic containers. It’s a two day exam.

      • No one offers mock exams anywhere, you really need to buy this stuff yourself to get some practice in?

        • There are few places that provide prep classes. This is not an easy exam to crack as it’s very competitive. Only available to give the exam in Melbourne only for the final one. Just to sit the 2x day exam costs $4775!! So with all that time, cost and hard work involved. We are trying to get everything ready and prepare well.

Better to ask in one of the Australian Dentists Facebook groups or ADA forums if you have access to that.
