Vodafone 720G Data Plan for Home Use?

I need a new phone that Vodafone provide $350 off for any iphone 15 which looks not bad.

And also have 720G data plan at this moment which could be used as home broadband, data pool sharing?

Is it good deal and whether any possible problem could with this choice

Here I was thinking 5G was fast. 720G must be incredible!

So is the idea to get a new plan and use the existing one for your home broadband? It seems like it'd be simpler to have one plan on your phone and sign up NBN. Or if you live alone, hotspot from your phone with a single plan.

On data pool sharing, "Can only be shared with Vodafone Infinite (excludes Ultra+ Plans), Vodafone BYOD , Plus, Team and Vodafone Infinite Data Plans" so your plans need to be one of those.

    • 720G should be totally enough for home broadband and my phone so I think there is no need pay extra for NBN

BTW I use NBN is leased and charged daily which can be paused at any time so 5G speed limit is not a problem to meπŸ˜„

      • The issue isn't the data limit, it's that you need to sign up for a second plan anyway. You can't have the sim in your phone and share that data pool with a sim in a 4G/5G modem without a second plan.

Vodafone specifically say you can't use their mobile sims a modem anyway, but it sounds like you'd be far better off moving to a cheaper plan and getting NBN. If 720GB is enough for home and on the go internet, just sign up a cheaper mobile plan. It'll definitely work and be a lot simpler.

        • Good idea, I can still use koganmobile for the phone and 720g for home broadband

Will they block my access if they find that I use it at home?

  • how much per month for the plan and iphone? on how many years?

    • I prefer 12 mths, a new iphone 16 for my partner next year maybe haha

      So iPhone 15 pm 512gb + 720g,12 mths

Each month pay 252 + 5(extra sim for 5g router)

      • (252+5)*12 = 3084 (plus 5G router cost, which is $200+)

a new iPhone 15 Pro Max with 10% discounted gift card (unfortunately non avaliable this week, but TCN/Ultimate GiftCard went on special on Coles worth all the time) from JB HiFi = $2337 * 0.9 = $2,103.3

        12 Month 100Mbps NBN @ 69 Per Month = $828 , and a $150 SIM Card.. = $3081.3

price is about break even without factor the 5G router.

5G is less reliable(speed goes bad in 9pm ish), behind CGNAT with no public IP. Speed is faster than 100mbps NBN but I think reliability is more important.

      • I personally have a Belong SIM Card in my 5G router

        Bought a $45 SIM for $22, applied $20 referral credit = $65 credit, first month $29, $19 thereafter. $23 for 3 months.

You can buy 700GB Belong Data on eBay for about $45. Me and my wife use about 350G a month.

and I am a SIM hopper, I spend very little on mobile cost (about less than $7 per month)

with My amount of effort, you can make buying an iPhone outright a lot cheaper….
