Best Android Compatible Smart Watch with ECG Capability

Hi, I'm in the market for a smart watch which has good ECG capability - I know Smart Watches are not medical grade and so shouldn't be solely relied on for detecting heart irregularities but I figure it's a starting point to potentially alert if I should go to a GP for a proper ECG. I'm also interested in something that can track sleep.

I have an Android phone so unfortunately can't get an Apple Watch (which seems to be the best for ECG).

Bonus points for something that can measure body composition.

My main goal is to find something Android compatiple with reliable health metrics.

I notice there have been a few posts on Smart Watches but most are old and with new models coming out, thought I might see what the latest models can do.

  • Withings have a quality ECG in their watch: https://www.withings.com/au/en/scanwatch

    • Not badly priced either.

    • Withings lacks in accuracy for heart rate tracking. Check YouTube video from "The Quantified Scientist". No. 1 is Apple Watch if people have iphone. If people have Samsung phone, just stick with Samsung smartwatch (has ECG too).

    • Looks like an ordinary watch, which is good. Does it review well?

      • +1

Avoid the Withings Scanwatch. I loved mine until the back fell off, it is only held in place with a glued seal that fails at about two years. I discovered it's a common problem and Withings don't offer any support after the warranty.

  • What about a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro or the Watch 6? I have the 5 Pro and the ECG seems pretty good. It has to pass through the TGA in Aus so I would assume anything rocking ECG would need to be decent.

    • Thanks @JumpingUnicorns I have an Oppo phone but I think it may be compatible with a Galaxy watch

      • @NickyM7 Ooooh check, I have been using the moto edge 50 pro and I tried to use ECG and it said I could only use with a Samsung phone. Your choices might be limited.

        Fitbit maybe?
