    Not so sure that this model is OLED, looks like the VA model. The OLED model should be G93SC, also this is matching the price on Officeworks.

    Title is wrong, this is just DQHD. It’s the fault of amazon, jbhifi etc., DUHD would be 7680x2160, this one is just 5120x1440.

      Correct - only the 57" G95NC is DUHD and you definitely need a deep desk for that one.

      Doesn't help that the Amazon listing calls it "DUHD" but the specs indicate DQHD.

    Just to be clear, this G95C model is VA panel
    G93C op mentioned is OLED one without smart TV functions
    LS49CG954SEXXY is OLED one with smart TV.
    The samsung naming this year is extremely confusing.
    As OP said, G93C is better panel the a few hundreds more expensive.

      Still some mistakes. This monitor is DQHD (5120x1440) not DUHD. DUHD resolution would be 7680x2160.

        Good point, I didn't notice that actually.
        But I doubt that really matters on a 49". No one is playing hyper competitive games on these. And that resolution at 240hz, you can't generate that many frames at full res on most AAA games.
        Also OLED clarity is 👌

        I think just the contrast/picture quality makes the OLED a no brainer

          I agree that it's a fantastic OLED display, but for the price you're paying, and given Samsung has had a 240hz 49" OLED on sale for almost a year now, there's no excuse to only support 144hz.
          If you have a top end system, which you most likely will if you're spending this money on a monitor, you can absolutely get 180 and even 200+ FPS in many games, which is noticeably smoother than 144.

          I've seen a few reviews on YouTube (Monitors unboxed did a great one) and most people in the comments agreed that they wouldn't buy this monitor just due to the fact that it should be 240hz, 144hz for a premium product such as this isn't good enough.

    This is basically just a refresh of the OG Odyssey G9 from a couple years ago, NOT the (now discontinued) Neo G9 49" with a 2048 zone Mini LED backlight, which was priced around $1770 AUD before it was discontinued late 2023.
    Realistically, this G95C needs to be priced around $1000-$1200 to be considered a deal, let alone just a decent MSRP. At its current price, you're better off waiting for the OLED G9 to be discounted again and just buying that.

    Samsung seems to be pulling an MSI here (who are selling "new" 34" UW OLEDs but using the same 2nd gen panels from 2022) and trying to sell the illusion of a "new" monitor in terms of being released recently with some extra features or refinement, but is actually using the same (Or very similar) panel used by previous models. Combine that with Samsungs continued QC issues, and I would well and truly NOT be buying this until the price drops significantly, trust me, it's not worth it (I've owned the Neo G9 since late 2023 and am now on my 3rd panel, considering getting it replaced again or just getting a refund).

      Thanks for the tip. I am looking to replace my CHG90 (the first 49" from Samsung with the 3840x1080 resolution) and wasn't sure if I should just hold out until an OLED G9 goes on sale… looks like I should!

        Yep, I'd hold off for now if I were you.
        OLEDs have their downsides (Comparatively low brightness and burn-in risk), but with proper care (No desktop icons, hidden task bar, avoiding long periods of static content), they really are worth it, especially considering most brands now offer 2 or 3 years burn-in warranty on all their OLED products (I don't believe Samsung does explicitly, so you may want to look at the 49" OLED offerings from other brands).

        I can attest to this as I've had the Dell AW3225QF 32" 4k QD-OLED for a few weeks now, and absolutely love it. I've directly compared it to my Neo G9, and it's a great upgrade. The glossy coating on the OLED is so much better than the oily matte coating on the G9, and there's no blooming, no added latency due to no local dimming algorithm, and no VA panel issues.
