Me. I use Switch Pro controller mode.
works fine. Surprisingly not that uncomfortable. Had used it on a long flight and worked great. The D-pad although small is also surprisingly accurate.
Not bad, you can only remap it when used as a keyboard. (Not a controller).
These go for around $24 to $27 on eBay, however may not be as agreeable terms.
Cheapest I found on eBay was $27.49 (unless you purchase 3+)
I would rather spend the few extra $ and get it directly from 8BitDo via Amazon AU.

Does that mean you can use it in place of an xbox controller for game pass games? Or that it acts as an HID keyboard?
You don’t need keyboard mode for that, in fact wouldn’t make sense to use keyboard mode.
With Switch Pro controller mode you switch the Dpad fro being the Dpad or simulating the left thumb stick.

I'm guessing the image of the box is incorrect? Mentions a Micro USB cable. Surely it's USB-C. Description seems to suggest USB-C too.

This deal is so tempting but after realising I really did need the analogue sticks in the smallest/most portable form factor (to slide into my small laptop bag when travelling), I went for the 8Bitdo SN30 Pro instead. I do love my 8Bitdo controllers though!

A smaller option with Joystick would be the 8BitDo Lite 2
IMO, the SF30/SN30 Pro has better ergonomics.
I looked into the Lite 2 a lot but given my use case is with PC, it sounded like the Lite 2 had some latency issues when paired with PC. Can't remember which Youtuber was testing it but after much deliberation I ended up thinking the SN30 was the better option even if I think the Lite 2 looks like a nicer form factor for travelling. On a side note, I also use an SN30 Pro+ for my at home controller.
Honestly unless you're actually going to put it in your pocket, you're better off going for the pro anyway. Save you a lot of hand cramps.
Anyone been able to use these as a page turned for a Kobo Libra?
Is there a keyboard shortcut for page turning? If so you would be able to use this in keyboard mode.
personally not on Kobo, but used on other E books with no issues.

Ok just received. Was able to get it to pair in Switch mode. Played beach buggy on the tesla, you press the R2 button to accelerate.
Haven't tested other games yet but it pairs fine.
I thought so to, bought one for my 12yo, but he either wants all the bells and whistles like thumbsticks, or is happy with just using touch screen. So frustratingly.it sits in a drawer unused…

It works with Tesla unfortunately it doesn’t have true left and right triggers so you can’t accelerate in beach buggy racing.
Cat quest and that SHMUP game work ok though.
Honestly for Tesla arcade the SN30 is best - when you can get it on sale.
Tried it out, unfortunately no, still have to use the steering wheel.
I used to think I was tach savvy, but seem to have lost my way over the past 30 years! I have one of these, but haven't been able to get it working properly with retro arcade emulators on an android tablet. I've switched it to the correct mode for Android, but the emulator program immediately crashes as soon as I use it (Mupen64).
What I'm trying to say is, has anyone has success with this on an Android tablet? If so, what apps do you recommend for retro gaming?
Android mode has terrible input lag, so even if it worked, you shouldn’t use it.
Just use Switch mode, most (all?) modern Android devices should support Switch controllers out of the box.
I've tried using one (the 8bitdo zero 2, also a Switch pro controller) with Android and both had extreme lag issues too. Is there a trick to get them working correctly?

First make sure you update the firmware to newest version since they fixed the lag in D-input https://support.8bitdo.com/firmware-updater.html

It's the best for most emulators except DS, 3DS or PSP. For those use stand alone emulators like DraStic or PPSSPP.
The above guide is a bit complex but the steps are basically:
Download the "cores" or emulators that Retroarch offers. For starter download everything he recommends in "My preferred RetroArch cores for popular systems"
To configure the controller, go to "Button mapping and hotkeys" section. Make sure to save your config file.
Third, for a pretty front end where the box arts are scraped automatically for your roms, Daijisho is the best app. Get it on the app store Then follow Retro Game Corps's guide for setup.

I will say this these little controllers are so good.
We used to laugh at kids (me) who had the Mad Catz controller. 8bitDos success needs to be studied.
Quality products = success. Mad Catz forgot about that part.
For anyone working in the creative field (or just use creative programs on their computer), these are REALLY useful. It can be used as a shortcut controller. All you need to do is download the mobile app and set all the shortcuts to the corresponding buttons. I carry mine with me in my little tech pouch so when I'm away from home it still helps with work or play.
