Qantas Points Flights Japan to Sydney

Was hoping to book some Qantas CR seats home from Osaka to Syd in mid April 2025 however the portal hasn’t released any QF or JQ flights throughout the entire month of April (not just from Japanese city’s but after a quick search there is no QF or JQ flights from any other cities during April, only partner airlines)

Have been checking at 10am daily and the last seats were released for 28th March 2025 for JQ14 direct from Osaka which is $130 fees and 26k points.

I am no stranger to booking points seats through Qantas portal and normally they release seats in a patterned way but it seems to have stopped and become irregular? Any insights ?

I am aware April is peak travel season however there have always been plenty of CR availability in April in previous years and most months until April 2025 have had plenty of availability?

    Are you Gold and above? If yes, it might just be QF avoiding the peak Sakura season.

    Jetstar hasn't released their Japan schedule for April onwards. Could be another month or two.

      Yeah agree my experience is that QF releases their seats day-by-day but JQ releases in monthly batches.

    World Expo 2025 starts the 13th of April. It will be busy and schedules might still be in flux or blockout for it.

    I suspect classic reward seats at Easter in school holidays at peak cherry blossom season and with World Expo on will be hard to come by.

    You may have better luck if you're booking from Tokyo instead.

    This is what I'm seeing for Tokyo - Sydney (as a QFF Platinum, so YMMV).

    Pretty common that Qantas blackout a few weeks around school holidays, which I assume are April
