the best part of this game is playing the OG bubble bobble. not sure if its nostalgia but its way better than the main game

      • Is this a straight port of the original arcade version, or a "remake"? Sorry to be a BB nerd too, but I thought I'd check.

I've played this game for 30 odd years, and there are slightly different versions of the "original" arcade game. The Japanese arcade version is the OG, the US arcade release is slightly different in gameplay, and the NES version is more different again.

        • I have the OG PCB for years until my arcade blew a fuse (didn’t realise it was a quick fix).

Personally, having played 99.9% of the BBs, including the bootlegs Bobble Bobble (it’s horrible) - I would say that the SMS is the definitive edition - but that’s just me.

Bubble bobble is a classic but that RRP of $60 is crazy… would pick this up for $5 on a deal etc not $21.

  • Wow, I just assumed this was Puzzle Bobble and was surprised to see the classic gameplay

What's going on with that four player split screen though?

Edit: Oh I see - it's not split screen, it's one map that looks like it is.
