  • I wonder if it is possible for an existing customer to use a starter pack?

    • that's what I wanted to know too

port out then port back in.

    • No, port out and port back in.

  • Can I port from Amaysim (Optus) to Coles mobile (optus)?

    • +2

      you can

      • Does it usually take longer, or is it more prone to issues? Just making sure I know what to expect. Thanks.

        • +1

Should be fast. I ported optus prepaid> coles in 5 mins. and amaysim> optus postpaid instantly

Just port to anyone who doesn't use Optus Network if you are already on Optus Network. Less likely to have problems.

The chance porting problems occuring during porting is exactly the same between all companies. However, porting between companies in the same network becomes an internal issue which can take longer to resolved verus porting to external network.

    • Did this for my parents two weeks ago, port from Amaysim to Coles and then back to Amaysim. Both times went pretty smoothly with one sim activated as soon as I clicked the button.

      Transfer hours:
      Monday to Friday: 8am - 8pm (AEST)
      Saturdays: 10am - 6pm (AEST)
National Public Holidays: Closed (transfers are not processed on public holidays)

For porting out and back in:
I prefer to go to the stores directly, $10 Coles sim from Coles or Lebara $9 sim from Woolworth
There may be cheaper options but I haven't tried those.

  • still no eSIM?

  • Optus network is really bad where I live. I'll suggest getting a starter sim to check your network coverage
I was able to get Boost Sim price beaten at Officeworks from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0CJXQPTXX/ref=ewc_pr_i…) . It will drop the price to around 191-192
That will be $45 extra but gives you esim+free vowifi roaming internationally and Telstra network coverage

  • I am torn between this and the Boost deal with $50 cashback! Has anyone had experience with either?

Currently on Amaysim and its not been bad but sometimes the calls dropout when I am driving to work which can be slightly frustrating.

    • +1

I've had experience with both, boost is excellent. Coles I've had terrible experiences. My family also has terrible experience with coles, they ported from boost to coles because they didn't want to spend the little extra, now they complain everyday that they need a new phone 🤦🤣

      • Thanks for the advice! I was leaning to boost you just gave me the final push! Cheers!

        • Yeah I was tossing up between the two.

I always like to be less than $10 a month, but for only $5 p/m more, seems worth paying only slightly extra to be on the Telstra network.

          • @flylin: Well first test yesterday had full service driving over Picton road which was a first! And on my drive to work I did not lose signal on a notrious stretch that usually is a dead zone for mobile service!

  • Does anyone know if this will add points to KitchenAid collection?

    • Yes. Earnt kitchenware points, stacked with 2000 bonus points for $100 spend and paid with e-gift card.

      • paid with e-gift card

        In-store?

        • +1

          Yes in-store.

      • emm, actually not, it treated as gift card.

but luckily the 10% off apply to it.

  • Activate within 30 days of purchase or by the date advertised in a promotion (whichever is earlier)

What is the date advertised in the promotion? Is it the offer end date (04/06/24)?
