Not at all. Confirmed by Tp-Link.
This router came out in 2011 and is using really old WiFi standards, it'll work fine for broadcasting a wifi signal just for IOT devices like bulbs / smart plugs but hardly useful for anything else.

not really tight on the budget. I would like to get something that works.Not sure why but I have connectivity issue with my current router at 2.4 GHz so my smart bulbs do not work but they have been fine for 1 year or so.
I take that with a new modem the issue should be solved.
I was also considering the google wi-fi but that's very expensive!
@ets27: If you have setup your router’s 2.4ghz and 5ghz network with the same SSID, the smart WiFi devices can get confused and try to connect to the 5ghz network. It’ll fail to connect and you may not get any indication why it failed. You’ll have to change the SSID of the 5ghz network to something different and the smart WiFi device will then connect to the 2.4ghz network.
My current router is a ASUS RT-AX88U, if you can make your budget stretch and you want something very high end, that's an option. Otherwise ASUS RT-AX82U is a $200-ish option that's good enough for most users.

Not sure what happened. It worked for like 10 months and suddendly they stopped working. No idea why.
Wireless N isn't that bad! Sure, there's no reason to use it since almost everything supports AC, but N is still capable of more bandwidth that most people need in a home.

Says NBN ready, but then also says not compatible with VDSL. My guess is the “NBN ready” is referring to bridge mode for non-FTTN NBN. Marketing was probably written back when everyone was getting FTTP.
Only Mwave make the "NBN ready" claim, and they're idiots. This modem doesn't work with any type of NBN, confirmed by Tp-Link. See my post below for more details.
More landfill - an obsolete 2.4GHz only modem which will be almost unusable for day to day internet usage unless you happen to live on a country homestead with no nearby neighbours clogging the 2.4GHz band with leaky microwave ovens, cordless phones and other Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices.
On the last thread this was posted I think they even found that this couldn't be used with an NBN NCD/NTD because it doesn't have a WAN port and can't be configured to have one of the ports acting as a WAN port. So totally useless on a modern setup.
Agreed, 2.4 between my PC and modem is garbage. Not for the speed, just too much traffic and interference.
You are correct, I bought this modem a few months ago for NBN, believing Mwave's "NBN ready" claim. Wasted a couple of hours searching through its settings, through the manual, and finally on-line forums, on how to configure it for NBN. You can't.
Got onto Mwave's technical support, they said "the manual mentions WAN, so it must support NBN". Idiots. Rang Tp-Link's technical support, and they point-blank said "it doesn't support NBN". Searched around online, and ONLY Mwave make the NBN-ready claim. Binned.

Even $14 is too much. It's pretty much worthless.

I have a NetCom Wireless but doesn't work very well with KASA devices on a 2.4 GHz network, hopefully a TP link would solve my issue?
