Tokyo Vice Season 2 Unavailable in Australia

So i rarely post anything but i am simply shocked at this situation.

Tokyo Vice is a HBO max show, it is a respectable crime drama with a 89% rotten tomato score. Previously, season 1 of the show was available to watch on paramount+ but abruptly disappeared from paramount+ Australia prior to the release of season 2.

Then, season 1 reappeared on sbs-on-demand for a brief period and is now on apple store, it is not however included in Apple+ TV but a one time purchase of $25 on apples store. Season 2 is available seemingly on apples store outside of Australia but not currently available to us. Season 2 finished in early April. At this point in time, it's been a month since this season finished yet still there is absolutely no way to buy or rent this for Australians. Binge/Foxtel usually have HBO licenses but this is not an offering.

physical copies of season 1 seem widely available, but physical copies of season 2 are not available on amazon, with a handful of dubious chinese offerings on ebay.

despite having apple+ tv, itunes, binge, paramount+ and all these tiresome services, nobody will take my money. This feels like some kind of anomaly/failure. At this point i have considered reaching out to executives on LinkedIn or SBS because this situation is absurd.

So be creative about it instead.

Just be patient. I expect it will come to SBS later this year.

    Brilliant show btw.

    • I really enjoyed season 1 but found it difficult to get into season 2… the vibe just felt off to me

      • I read an article about the guy it is based on and who wrote it. I bet he forced the worst of it into the series to make himself look good.

It is a failure, but not anomaly. Nothing to be shocked about. It's always been like that since the birth of TV and cinema. You just noticed it because it just happens to the show you want to watch. This is one of the reasons for many people to sail the high seas.

So you either wait patiently (and forget about it) or do the thing you can do now.

If they don't make it easily accessible for a fair price, pirate it. Economics.

100% agree. Just pirate it for free like everyone else. Learn some life skills along the way too.

  • Yea great show i watched both 1st season then 2nd seasonas as it was coming out this year.

Hope they dont do what they often do an drag it out for too long and lower the quality just for money (think Heroes, Lost, how I met you mother etc)

Not wanting to spoil anything but season 3 should be the final season. End with the show on top tell a great story and that's it like breaking bad did.

As for T.Vice the acting and cast are on point and writting is solid. There is no agendas or over the top preachy narrative so most rubbish produced now has.

I suggest if you like this you'd probably like the new Shogun show on Disney (I dont sin to Disney I refuse to dont give them money)

My advice if you can't get access a show head to the seven seas my pirate friend :)

Also you got apple TV so give Drops of God a try its incredibly underrated - also mainly set in Japan

    • i will definitely check out Drops of God
