    at 100/80 Mb/s it's a bit slow. For about $40 more you can get the Sandisk Extreme which is 190/130 Mb/s. It would probably be fine for small games and the Nintendo Switch.

    Having said that, the Steam Deck sd slot apparently tops out at 104mb/s so it may be perfectly fine.

      isn't the draw of this card that it is A2, so better for small random writes rather than other cards which might be A1 but have much higher sustained write speeds?

        A2 is better, but Sandisk Extreme is A2 also. On the Steam Deck the limitations of the SD slot probably won't make any difference between the two. If you transfer stuff to the card on the PC it might.

    A2 is better - rated as faster transfer speed with all else being equal

    No. it's about 1/4 of the throughput.

  I bought one of these and returned it. Used it in my gaming laptop and it benched well in CDM but it seemed to run out of cache quickly when copying files or installing apps and write speeds slowed to a crawl. Made it difficult to do simple things like download or update games on steam. Basically avoided using it for anything over 5GB but not sure what the official spec is on when it slows down.

  I changed to the Samsung pro instead from a recent deal.

      Maybe they build/design their cards to do well in CDM benchmarks but struggle in real world use cases… it was incredibly frustrating installing even retro games from 20 years ago because of the write speed limitations. I tried to download/install on my SSD and then move them over to the SD but hit the same barrier and the Copy window would just stall showing no movement.

      I also checked my receipt from Amazon from a couple of months ago and surprise surprise it was exactly $101.14 as well!
