jurgen.lulz spotted another deal on chamber vacuum sealer. The main different is Anova Precision™ Chamber Vacuum Sealer has a glass cover, so you can see through the chamber.

    So should I cancel my Wevac CV10 and order this?

    • I can't answer that question, but can say that I have had mine Anova Vac for about 2 years now, and use it daily, and love it

          Nope, you can use any bags for commercial vacuum sealer.

          Although I found 280mm sealing width is a bit non-standard - most commercial bags I saw are either 250mm or 300mm.
          250mm works fine but the chamber is not too big so losing 30mm of width might be noticeable.

          Also please note Avona chamber vacuum sealer looks like Avid Armor USV20 with different controls (you can get Avid Armor 280mm bags via Amazon, not cheap).

          • @SickDmith: thanks! Looked at some reviews which commented that there are still air pockets after sealing. How's your experience like?

              @gadget: I have no issues with air pockets at all, I do use the stronger vacuum setting.
              Only ever had one bad seal, and that was a user error, not the machine.
              I love that it does liquids, I came from a non chamber sealer.

              @gadget: No major air pockets - I think I had a couple of cases where I had small pockets in the middle of raw chicken tight filets.
              But I always use standard vacuum (never strong).
              In general I am pretty happy with sealer.
              The only feature I wish it has is vacuum gauge - tried to seal muffins and had to find optimal "vacuum time" by trial and error. :)

  • I do wonder if it's been historically cheaper (15% sounds pretty good, wouldn't surprise me if it was 20%). Nonetheless, smashing good deal for a quality product.

    Also the Precision Oven is $800 which is a cracker of a deal — if only it was more akin to a standard 45cm oven dimensions (including ability to pull out tray within that cavity), it'd be an instant purchase.

    • Pulled the trigger on the chamber vac. Precision oven has been useful with daily use cooking up items I’d never thought of. Forget tiger and cuckoo - makes best fluffy rice, can toast multiple breads, pizzas etc.

      I wasn't following the price but when I bough mine the RRP was $500+ so I bough mine on sale for something around $450.
