cheap maccas …to reduce food bill are people making sure their kids use the free fruit offer at woolies and cole’s , seems crazy to buy fruit for kids when they can get it for free.

😂 in that case, a loaf of white bread from Aldi. Fills you up and zero air fryer involvement/washing up. I had a housemate who did that during Covid, hurts my stomach to just think about it. If you don’t mind air drying for a bit, frozen chips/wedges are good too.
KFC has the $15, 9 piece chicken deal running, works out to be at least 2 meals for most people.

You can make your own meals for cheaper though, with proper nutrients that won't leave you hungry and snacking 1hr after eating.Of course cooking your own meal generally comes up cheaper. It also depends on what kind of ingredients you buy, but that besides the point.
My question is about comparing McDonalds with other restaurants, fast food or otherwise.
Those deals are not always available, but when they are, are they actually cheap (compared to competitors, by value)? It seems that they are.
Even supermarket ready meals can cost you more than $8.
Long gone are the days when you can get $5 chicken curry..I actually find curry to be the most overpriced meal on sale. It's the easiest thing to cook in a large batch, you have people paying $20 for a serve at restaurants. Just crazy. Said serve would cost the restaurant $2-$3.

One thing is for sure, the reason all these fast food deals are out atm is they need to stay relevant to their target audience, broke people. When said people can afford to pay more for Maccas / KFC / Dominos and the like, you'll all be complaining about the deals but still buying the food.

the McChicken I got yesterday had the thinnest pattie I've ever seen, it was half a centimetre high. made a point of checking it as it was tough every single bite. they're all supposed to be standardised, and fried too (ie, not pressed onto a grill). so that's got me thinking they may have significantly reduced the height of the chicken pattie. dry as too.
Its just a slightly oversized chicken nugget. IDK why peoeple buy McChickens lol
it's better to buy the hungry jack 5.90 royal chicken meal with 3 nugget. either one isn't gonna taste good but for money to filling stomach probably better deal
