Repco Cockburn WA - 20m Water Hose Reel Auto Retractable $29

70

For the WA OzBargainers near Cockburn, Repco is flogging the 20m hose reels at $29, among a few other items. See the PDF for more. I'm not sure why it's a "Grand Opening" when they've been there for years though..

Anyway, flyer says Sat 15th, Prizes & Giveaways, BBQ, Car Displays and the Nova Street Team will be there, so some freebies to had as well.

That said.. go for Cockburn jokes!(Surely by now we all know it's pronounced Coh-burn right?) :)

Nice. Flogging off some hoses in Cockburn.

Yeah don't make any jokes about Cockburn. It's a bit of a sore point with locals

I like how self-retracting hose and Cockburn are in the same paragraph. I'm pretty sure that Cockburn usually leads to a self-retracting hose

    • edit: this was supposed to be a reply to Spackbases comment above

To live there… it better bloody be heaven on earth.

Because regardless of how locals like to pronounce it, it should most definitely be pronounced as spelt… ESPECIALLY when locals are present!

Even they want it changed! http://www.cockburn.wa.gov.au/

      • My 'sore point' joke was so subtle I think it was missed ;)

      • Its not heaven on earth trust me! Not the worst suburb in Perth but its a long way from the city and doesn't really have any redeeming features.

  • These are total rubbish, the locking mechanism will be broken within a week or two of installing it. I had to take mine back for a replacement twice, when the third one broke I went and bought a decent one at Bunnings.

    • both me and a friend have the air hose the same as these, i have also seen them in proper workshops. i find it very hard to understand how one person can have 3 failures when others have zero failures.

cant help but think your doing it wrong…

      • An air hose is completely different because air doesn't weigh anything compared to water so the system isn't under as much stress.

If you read the deal I linked to you will see someone else had the exact same problem as well. I have had zero problems with the $100 one I got at Bunnings.

        • see, statements like that make me question wether the hose reel is at fault…. you are seriously trying to tell me that a lighter water hose with some water in it has any effect compared to the heavier/thicker air hose?

        • @nosdan: Yes I am seriously trying to tell you that! Anyway if your happy with the air hose go and buy one its only $29. I'm just sharing my experiences with this unit.

        • @nosdan: I'm sure the mechanics as to the air hose vs the water hose (inc the weight) could be completely different

hoses to put out the cockburn

    sorry couldnt help myself

  • Bought one of these last week. Haven't opened the box. Do they come with mounting bolts? Any hints on how to mount to a brick wall. dynabolts?

    • Yeah they come with dyna bolts.

  • Bought one last year for the same price. Pretty good so far…my kids play with it all the time….chase after it and it is still working…

  • Grand opening and Cockburn seem like a bit of an oxymoron to me.
I certainly wouldn't be rushing in that's for sure.

    • "I certainly wouldn't be rushing in that's for sure."
It's the rushing that gives you the burn………Okay I'll see myself out…..
