Yeah, needed a Cochlear implant but so glad I got this instead.

Australian owned but selling in US dollars. Go figure.

.com domain and no ABN/ACN on their website either. Australian

        • Perhaps because they ship worldwide and what better currency than the USD to do that? They are designed and developed in Melbourne

@spawnlaeer: Guess I am an Australian (By choice) and I am really happy to see Australian tech companies do well and want to support them in whatever way I can and why not? In the world of BOSE's and Ultimate Ears and the likes, these headphones have been universally praised for their sound quality and it is very hard to achieve considering how saturated the headphone market already is. And their technology actually works. I may have given you an impression that I am somehow associated with the company but the only thing I am doing here is to promote a locally designed and developed product which giving the heavyweights of the world a run for their money.

You may not want to support them (not that they have an average or a bad product) but perhaps the larger community will. I dont know and I dont have a dog in this fight.

Where does it say you needed a cochlear implant?

        Here's a joke I just made up:

How do you make a Cochlear?

        Go and watch some porn.

        • OzBargain full of useless trolls. Was asking a question and got a joke.

        • @jlogic:
          Serious answer.
If i recall correctly the Cochlear hearing device is an Aussie invention.
The irony Scab presented in reply to "This is perhaps the best Australian owned and developed electronic product that you can buy" was the claim was that (s)he needed a Cochlear implant (arguably a more important and less superficial item than headphones), but got this instead.

          ::edit::
          Cochlear history…

  • Brother-in-law has these build quality is top notch, not sure if the audio adjusting is a gimmick or not I definately had a big difference when playing with it.. but doing the test 3 times gave three wildly different visual results. I can't remember but there was also something about needing the phone actively connected to switch profiles or stream with a profile that made it feel buggy to just pick up and use .. but maybe that was just because we were passing them around at Christmas.

Otoacoustic Emission can be obtained easily, so tuning to your own profile is believable
however, in the ears with over the ear cups, it's very dangerous to use outdoors.
also, too expensive to give it try, even at $250

    • Too expensive without having a listen? They do have 30 day money back on their website. I am not sure about the fine print.

Hey guys, this was meant to be an email exclusive ;) But we're getting good traction in 2018 and I'm happy the OzBargain community is supporting us!

This is an Australian company and we sell in Australian dollars (as well as Euro/Pound/USD) but we had a 5 minute server hick up this morning and users weren't being redirected to the Australian store. Should be ok now!

Let me know if you have any questions. Don't forget to check out user reviews on the product page: https://au.nuraphone.com/products/nuraphone#reviews

    • Thanks for clarifying this. Shame about the 3-4 week delivery though.
