Just clocked this, bought it last sale for $20. It's great, like a less stressful xcom.

    • +1

I think the extra stress/unpredictability is what really makes XCOM games more fun and satisfying. Kingdom Battle couldn't keep me hooked like that, still a good game though.

      • X-Com is the better game no doubt. I think Kingdom Battles is pretty fun though!

  • +1

What’s in the gold edition and is it worth it?

    • More levels with different characters. After finishing the main game, which was great fun, I didn’t feel like I wanted to continue playing the DLC. It was enough.

      • Can you play through the whole thing with 2 friends locally?

        • No, the coop matches are separate from the main campaign.

    • +1

Yes it's worth it. Normally I don't say that about dlc.

      • Anyone else thinks the Gold Edition is worth it? If so, why?
        If not, why? Thanks.

        • Donkey Kong dlc. It's more of the same but it's good. It's for this, really.

          Challenge dlc is meh.

Weapons/skins or whatever it was.. Useless

  • I want to need this but after beating the campaigns and dlc then selling the cart, I know it's like throwing money away

Who is doing better job keeping people at home: Nintendo or government?

  • +2

Season pass on sale by any chance? This always seems to be the one game where the complete pack is on sale but the DLC itself isn't

    • +1

      Yes, only 50% though.

      • +1

Thanks. I will keep waiting until it's discounted the same as the main game or gold edition.

      • If I own the base game, does buying this DLC give me the equivalent of the Gold Edition? Or is there something extra in the Gold Edn that's not in the DLC?

        • +1

Buying the season pass gives you everything in gold edition.

Great! Now I just need a switch for under $1000! 👌🏻

    • I've got one for $999: sold.

    • +1

damn. I was planning on grabbing one soon but haven't looked at prices for ages. Sorry kids, looks like it'll be the trusty old Wii for a while longer.

  • Any other games worth buying?

  • Can I buy this even though I don't have a switch yet and then add it to my switch when I get one?

    • No. You need to have a Nintendo account linked to a Switch to purchase content.

    • +1

I believe you can but only if you create a Nintendo account and then log into another persons Switch. There’s some daft requirement about having used the account on a system before Nintendo will accept your money.

      • ya think it's daft.
feel for the poor call ctr support explaining why the customer can't dl their switch game on their ps4…
they only have a rule after enough people have failed w/o it….

        • Not the case given Nintendo has never had a web store that functioned that way. What we have now is the closest they’ve gotten.

Online sales without owning a system hasn’t been a big problem for basically any other digital store be that Xbox, PS, Steam or whatever else that’s supported the feature. The people that can’t work out what the digital PS or Xbox stores apply to probably aren’t the customers buying via a web browser to begin with.

  • How are people browsing the sales on their PC?.
When I go to the Aus Nintendo site I don't see an online store?.

    • +2

      Vooks.net & Dekudeals.com

    • +1

You can get through to the switch store via the nintendo website by clicking around for ages. They've just made it deliberately painful so you'll give up and go do your shopping on your device like they'd prefer.

Dekudeals is usually the sanest way to check their store.

Have had this game for a year now. Loved Xcom (from the original to the newer ones).

It's hard to recommend this game… It really is a child like version of X-com without the challenge or stress… So it wasn't for me. 15.00 for a "AAA" Nintendo title is a good deal though, but I think this is a case of it will either click with you or it won't.

It's missing the base building, weapon upgrading part that made X-Com fun. The Mario/Rabbid team are just woop ass from the get go and the challenge comes from knowing the games mechanics and paying attention rather than being on the back foot and pushing back against the odds.

  • Couple good prices across the eShop now.

Monster boy, children of morta, civilisation, otttd, Spyro, Diablo… Good times.

  • Hopefully my switch arrives soon, stupid i cant buy it without a linked switch…

  • Amazing price!!
