  • More info about the VPN would be nice. I have the same deal with another provider for $7USD per month which I've been on for over 6 years now.

According to this forum they use WLVPN as the VPN provider.

Nope - they've moved to Privado from March.

        • Thank you for that information.

So they used to use WLVPN and they very recently switched to Privado. I wonder what the reason they switched providers.

Any way there's a comment on that forum from a person who says Privado is garbage. But weather that's true or not who knows.

You may be better off using your own chosen VPN service like i do. Stacksocial has multiple lifetime VPN deals.

For example you can get a SlickVPN Core Lifetime license for $19.99 USD (about $32.55 AUD). And it would sure be better than what Tweaknews is providing.

I have lifetime licenses from 4 different VPN providers which i all bought through Stacksocial. Windscribe Pro, SlickVPN Core, Keepsolid VPN Unlimited and VeePN. All have been great.

          • @hollykryten: Damn that's good, I pay $2usd on top of my usenet for Slick but a lifetime subscription for $20 is awesome. Not sure if I'd bother keeping the usenet then given the exchange rate.

  • How is the usenet scene these days? Been out of it for 5+ years.

Are the distros still of better quality and reliability, and with less nosey neighbours trying to see what's on my TV? Winkwinknudgenudge

    • I only use it occasionally for things that are no longer seeded.

    • There are 4k releases for blockbuster distros and I've recently noticed a few 4k versions of the distros you'd watch on your couch. Some get taken down quicker than others. There are no noisy neighbours.

  • Privado VPN IS garbage. It's not just one comment. Hundreds of comments from users everywhere.
