Would be great if you can give some details about what you meant by poor built quality, links of reviews?
- Good value for specs
- Screen colour accurate
- Cheap plastic everywhere that creaks and scratches easily (see lid)
- Small battery for size
- Runs hot for expected performance
I don't have a Dell but I have a plastic think pad and it is literally falling apart due to the plastic construction and its inability to handle the heat. Its just something to be careful about when selecting a laptop.
@Pcoder: what Thinkpad model?
I've had a thinkpad for many years - it's fallen off tables etc and still looks good as new unless you are looking for scratches.
But then I haven't exposed it to too much heat….do you mean you've left it in the car on a hot day sort of thing?
@andresampras: I mean heat from the internals, I've got a e570 from 2017 and it's heat dissipation properties weren't great and various elements have been chipping off, particularly on the heatsink side.
That is a great review. Temperature is definitely going to be an issue. Gaming capability isn’t too good either. Saved me over one thousand dollars. Much obliged.
Had one of these for 2 months and sold it. On top of the reasons materix01 menioned, the keyboard is the most awful I've ever used in a laptop.

The alienware command center doesn't even work on my G7 15" anymore…
I use to only buy Dell laptops because of a great experience with customer support but now that I've tried Acer and Asus, the fit and finish is far superior.
Alienware 13 and Alienware m11x were awesome though.

I had a ThinkPad. It was pretty good.
I have basically this laptop with slightly different specs. Can not recommend it. Have had so many issues with overheating and crashes during even light use. Would suggest looking elsewhere.
Decent value but unfortunately let down by poor build quality.
