I've kept my eyes on this for a while now and received the CamelCamelCamel alert today. Even without a cashback, it is currently the cheapest ever. Cashback brings it down further, to roughly $441.

  • How does this compare to the Fenix 6/6 Pro? Anyone done some extensive research?

      From the link

The Garmin Instinct series is essentially a Fenix lite.

Still too much for it considering it’s a Fenix lite. It definitely has a great battery life. Had it for a while but it’s bit annoying having such a chunky watch on the arm. Have a look at the reviews of Amazon. There are a lot of unhappy customers. If there would be just a couple of bad reviews you could call it bad luck, but there are a lot talking about freezing screen and solar not working properly.

Got the solar tactical and I've never had the screen or solar not work.

          • @Tacooo: Same. Never had a problem and I wear it daily for everything - gym, running, cycling, climbing, kayaking.

I do find I have to clean it every week or two because sweat/oils build up a bit around the edge of the glass which is where the solar panel starts, but its like 5s of effort with an alcohol wipe.

It does everything I want from a GPS sports watch, and unlike all the shitty Chinese brands I've had, it actually properly tracks my runs.

I got increasingly mad with my two Xiaomi watches that refused to track when unpaired with a phone or if you ran through canopy for more than a few meters.

Best GPS watch I've had in years.
