Yes you can from the Apple Store (Online & In-Store)

      From WookieMonster previous post:

      Using Apple Gift Cards

      • You can redeem up to 8 gift cards (in conjunction with an Apple Account Balance and/or a credit/debit card) online or over the phone at Apple.
      • You can redeem up to 8 gift cards (in conjunction with a credit/debit card) in-person at an Apple Store.
      • You cannot redeem an Apple Account Balance in-person at an Apple Store.
      • You can load multiple Apple gift cards to an Apple Account Balance, but the maximum balance is $4999.
      • Apple gift cards have no expiry date.
    • Yes my partner did it a week ago

    • +3

The old joke no longer works

  • Any discount to combine this with?

  • +3

So the 30x points a few months ago were a one off?

Seeing lots of 20x points the last couple of weeks.

    • +32

"Yes" if people keep buying 20X.

    • Probably an intro deal. The 30x points cards were hard to find whereas the 20x are abundant also. In that regard the 20x is a better deal.

      • To be fair, Woolworths also started enforcing a one transaction per day and ten gift cards per transaction rule when they started offering 20x bonus points on Apple gift cards, so there's no way OzBargainers can buy $36,000 worth of Apple gift cards in a promotional period using one Everyday Rewards account anymore.

        • I wonder how they will enforce one transaction per day limit ? like cant the customer go to different stores to buy multiple ones in different transactions?

Or has the Rewards team gone that clever to stop giving points after a certain conditions of spent/bought?

          • +1

@USER DC: I think what Everyday Rewards was going to do was to be clever and update their back-end systems to automatically award zero points on the second, third, fourth, etc transactions in a day.

However, as you've probably seen by now, there are some reports from other OzBargainers that the limit isn't actually being enforced.

  • -1

can we use WW wish giftcard to buy ?

    • +1

      No

    • +2

You cannot using any giftcard to buy any other giftcard

    • Sure can once you figure out how to make and use a time machine

You can load multiple Apple gift cards to an Apple Account Balance, but the maximum balance is $4999.

i dont get those. so max 8 or maximum $4999 ?
maybe 8 per day then next day can load another 8 until $4999 ?

    • +7

I read it as that you can load however many to your account up to $4999 limit. On top of your account balance, you can use another 8 gift cards online or over the phone.

      • +2

This is exactly what I meant when I wrote the sentences @ChiMot quoted!

    • +3

I think it means you can redeem as many into your account balance up to $4999 but you can only redeem a max of 8 during checkout or phone sales

    • +3

If you use gift cards to make purchases directly, there will be a limit of 8 cards per transaction for both in-store and online.

For redemption into your apple account, there's no limit on how many gift cards you can use. Your apple account balance just can't be over $4999.

    Still waiting for x30 points

    • +1

So am I, but I think you might have a wait a while longer.

  • Got this offer during black Friday and just noticed I had been awarded extra 20% rewards on top (24x points). Could be the same for this too!

    • -1

      Staff Card ?

      • +5

Nope. A team member card would discount Apple gift cards by 5%.

The previous commenter is almost likely referring to the fact that Apple gift cards are still triggering Everyday Rewards bonus points boosters… this was first reported in the very first Apple gift card deal at Woolworths back in August.

In their case, they almost likely had a storewide 5x points booster active on their account. A 5x points booster awards 4x bonus points in addition to the 1x standard point you'd earn for every $1 spent at Woolworths, but as you get 0x standard points for gift card purchases, you only get the 4x bonus points from that booster.

        Does that make sense?

Wow!! Wish I'd have gotten such offer.
But sadly no such love to me by Woolies.

          • +1

@USER DC: I should have made it clear that nearly all purchases of gift cards at Woolworths and BIG W will not trigger Everyday Rewards bonus points boosters, but Apple gift cards have been an exception the last few months.

  • Anyone know if Credit Cards count purchasing Apple gift cards as an eligible purchase? e.g. CommBank Awards. In the middle of a churn at the moment.

    • +2

You are buying at Woolies, the bank can't see what you bought unless you send them the receipt lol.

Edit: Yes, it counts towards your purchase requirements.

      • -1

You've gotta be a real idiot sending receipts to bank (i.e.
        1. Giving them free information on your spending habits
        2. Make yourself ineligible on bonuses
        3. Cost yourself time, trying to argue stuff with bank afterwards
        )

    • Yes mate, but on the side note just to be safe you might wanna make split payments it makes look less like of a gift card transactions when it's an odd number like 238.73 or something like that.

That's good thing about woollies they allow split payments.

And not ban it like coles

Introduction of Apple Gift card is the reason we don’t have anymore 15% off iTunes card which used to be on sale every now and then.

    • +5

Yes down to my last $100 iTunes card that was 20% off :(

    • +1

Honestly, the closest you’ll get to 15% off Apple gift cards these days is going to Coles and purchasing TCN or Ultimate gift cards accepted at JB Hi-Fi, and then using TCN or Ultimate gift cards to pay for Apple gift cards.

      • +1

Hi WookieMonster, you mean I can buy 15% off Ultimate home gift cards and use it to buy the apple gift cards at JB HI FI? I thought gift cards cannot be used to buy the other gift cards. seems like this is a good deal.

        • +3

you mean I can buy 15% off Ultimate home gift cards and use it to buy the apple gift cards at JB HI FI? I thought gift cards cannot be used to buy the other gift cards.

Yes… although I did gloss over the fact that this is a bit of a grey area.

JB Hi-Fi’s head office issued a directive to all stores around this time last year to stop customers from using TCN or Ultimate gift cards to purchase gift cards. Most staff will assume that this only refers to the purchase of JB Hi-Fi gift cards, but you may run into some staff who will interpret the directive to refer to the purchase of all gift cards (including Apple gift cards).

I went to one JB Hi-Fi store earlier this year to purchase an Apple gift card (and I wasn’t using a TCN/Ultimate gift card), and the staff member asked me to show the card I was going to use. However, another OzBargainer had plenty of success in the last week or so using TCN gift cards to purchase Apple gift cards at JB Hi-Fi, so YMMV.

If you want a Mac/higher spec iPads buy these gift cards then wait until Apple's back-to-school promotion starts on their edu store in a month, so you get:
    - Education discount
    - 20x points
    - Free AirPods
Thats what I'm doing, but with the gift cards I bought from Coles couple weeks ago.

    • What!!! Free airpods?!? Didn't know this perk can happen in Australia. Generally Hhow much % discount are we looking at?

      • +1

So 16GB RAM Air usually costs $1799.
Down to $1619 buying on education store.
Gift cards gave me ~$150 to use with Flybuys.
        Will sell AirPods for ~$230.
So I'm getting the Air for ~$1239, ~$560 off RRP

        Plus 1.5% cashback too.

    • I didn’t read the fine print and realised the MacBook Air I bought my wife for Christmas wasn’t eligible for recent gift card promo.. (though I did get 20x points and Edu pricing)

She’s an ozbargainer too so I’m going to give it to her and offer if she wants to wait 8 days (back to uni started Jan 8 last year) before opening it we’ll return it and rebuy with bonus AirPods for her!

      • What gift card promo in which the Air was not eligible are you referring to?

        • +1

the recent black friday deal at Apple IIRC, "buy a macbook and get a giftcard worth X dollars". It's like the Sony cashbacks, except the cashback is locked to Apple, whereas Sony is generic prepaid visa. I don't think the Edu store purchases were eligible for the "giftcard worth X" (but they got better edu store pricing anyway

          • @quick-dry: Why wouldn't the edu store not provide purchases using gift cards. It's just a form of payment.

            • +1

@PeeDee: they do :) You misunderstood. You could pay for it using gift cards, but the "gift card promo" being referred to was "buy Apple Item X from regular Apple online/retail store, receive Apple item purchased plus a bonus Apple Gift Card worth Y dollars" (as distinct from the "30x/20x points on Apple Gift Cards" promo) :)

              • @quick-dry: That’s the one!

                • @Vorsprungdurchtech: Update - just returned and rebought from the local apple store, they were super chill about it, walked away with new AirPods for the misses!

                  1500 rrp
                  -edu disc 150
                  =1350
                  -reward points 135
                  =1215
                  -airpods bonus 219
                  =996 for M1 Air

                  That’s an ozbargain! Thanks guys

      • i did the same (bought gift cards from BigW and purchased MacBook Air for my wife! lol) but didn't go through Edu pricing as we are no way eligible for that. But I did get the $140 voucher which I used to buy the magic mouse and AV adaptor.

        • FYI you can still get edu pricing, checks for edu eligibility are extremely rare (and they only happen at Apple Stores and not if you opt for delivery).

          • @UosdwisRDewoh: I got $140 gift card and $60ish Cashrewards so the difference was about $50 I think if I purchased from edu store at the time. Opted not to take a chance :)

    • When does the back to school promotion usually start? Is it early Jan?

    • Same thoughts here!!

  • -5

So basically 10% off Apple products..still not enough to convince me to buy

  • Anyone know if you can stack payments made with Apple gift cards or Apple ID balance with ShopBack’s or Cashreward’s cashback?

  • I was surprised how quickly bonus points appeared in my account during the last promo (same day) and the subsequent conversion to QF points happened in a few days. Finding variable amount gift cards was the biggest challenge!

  • -2

It's a shame tax time is over, nevermind these should be good for my visa when department of immigration calls

    • Beat me to it 🤣

Hi guys new to this. How exactly does this work? I buy gift cards. Purchase desired apple product. Receive bonus Woolworths rewards points. And then do what? Get $10 off my groceries?

    I want a new iPad mini. 64GB is $749. So I buy 3 x $200 + 1 x $100 + $30 gift cards = 14,600 points.

    What is this worth?

    • +2

You can use your bonus point at WW to purchase a calculator first, then you can easily figure out how much money you saved.

    • +3

      How exactly does this work?

You purchase Apple gift cards with the amount you want to spend at Apple. My suggestion is you purchase 2x variable load gift cards: 1x loaded with $500 and 1x loaded with $249.

You will pay full face value for the gift cards, but assuming you purchase those two gift cards in the same transaction, you will get 20x Everyday Rewards points for each $1 spent. If you spend $749 on Apple gift cards, you will get 14,980 Everyday Rewards points. (Hint: make sure you activate any Woolworths storewide bonus points boosters in your Everyday Rewards account, as you may get even more bonus points!)

      What is this worth?

14,980 Everyday Rewards points is equivalent to $74.90 in Everyday Rewards Dollars, but remember that you’ll only be able to convert Everyday Rewards points into Everyday Rewards Dollars in lots of 2,000 points. Everyday Rewards Dollars don’t expire as long as you keep your account active for 18 months.

You also cannot redeem Everyday Rewards Dollars on future gift card purchases. Although I previously said to other people that you could pay for gift cards using Everyday Rewards Dollars if you ended up with $4,000 in Everyday Rewards Dollars on your account, it looks like Everyday Rewards may have closed that loophole…

      • +1

Woolies is getting too clever mate. Might wanna take as much advantage in 2021 remaining as possible who knows wtf they gonna make it in 2022 more sh**ty etc

    • I think 2,000 points normally converts to $10 Woolworths money (i.e. you can use on your 'next shop'), so you're looking at $70 in Woolies money.

      • or if converted to Qantas points, worth about $20-80 when buying flights. worth more if buying an international ticket in higher class.

    • +1

      In simple plain definition man,
200 rewards dollars = $1 (shop discount at woolies/their partners)

So you can calculate rest yourself

  • +3

Has anyone tried the 10% off once a month for woolies insurance on Apple gift cards?

    • +1

Great question. I’d like to know too.

    • +1

I cannot find any evidence on OzBargain of anyone previously confirming they have tried applying the 10% once-a-month discount on Apple gift cards at Woolworths.

I can see other people have previously confirmed that you cannot use the 10% once-a-month discount on other gift cards sold at Woolworths, so I would be surprised if it worked on Apple gift cards.

    • +1

      It doesn't work.

    • My guess is it probably used to work when it was first launched. But then Woolies found out about it and stopped this stuff(probably no more than a month later, the Rewards team will this kinda stuff every week/monthly basis). Like they have been stopping all the other tricks. But I can't say for certain what it was like when first launched.

    • +3

I tried last time when it was 20X points. It didn’t work. The 10% off is only for grocery.

  • +1

Can apple card be used to pay for netflix ( I am paying by iTunes currently… its a continued subscription from last n years)

    • +2

      Yes.

Apple gift cards are a direct replacement of App Store & iTunes gift cards, which means that Apple gift cards can be used to pay for subscriptions (e.g. Apple Music subscriptions, grandfathered Netflix subscriptions, etc).

  • +1

i didn't need one, but i can stock up i guess. i need it for clash of the clans. i usually don't spend on games, but the gold pass is amazing and a great value.

  • Is it better value to purchase the set amounts or variable load?

    • The points are awarded based on the dollar value. So doesn't matter if it is $50 on a predefined card or on a variable card.

  • +3

2000 points is 10 bucks? Ie 10% back?
