This is a better deal as you still need an amp, +bag and stand is very useful.

Not really. That amp is pretty rubbish, you'll be able to pickup a practice amp off FB marketplace or gumtree for $20.
      The stand is also rubbish.

      • +2

Agreed. $170 for that amp n stand is horrible

        • Is it the Affinity guitar though? Or is the set just "Affinity" series, but still Bullet guitar. Worth it for the guitar upgrade if it is.

Edit: going off the solid black logo, I'm guessing it's the Bullet guitar. Confusing that the set is called Affinity in the URL

OzBargain cares about price, not quality/usability

        • +5

Ozbargain is about value - often, but not always, driven by a low price. This combo represents poor value.

@anthman: That's a nice idea, but anyone reading this place regularly knows that price is the driver, not value. Getting four crappier things rather than one good one will win here every time.

@mickeyjuiceman: Perhaps if the ozbargainer doesn't know any better, that's why we have comments and a great and informed community to help point out high value/low value deals :)

              • @anthman: And I'm all for that. But I just find it amusing that the concept of value trumps lowest cost around here. I've been here for years, and rarely see it doing so, no matter how much informed opinion is provided.

@mickeyjuiceman: I see it as a transition - those new to ozbargain might see all the deals and think "wow, this is great!" but over time (and maybe a few regret purchases), they begin to clue-up on deals that look good at first but now refer to comments for opinions, search for the same item in past deals to see if this price is great or not, and pay more attention to the upvotes for what actually registers as a decent deal. Not everyone though, but just my general observation. At this later stage, you see the "veterans" post more comments on items (often based on their own experience) which brings in the "value" lens for those wise enough to read the comments before buying.

That you can expect, along with the usual run of joke comments for condom deals ><

And tampons… Awesome stuff if you really miss primary school (which it seems a LOT do)

  • Based on Youtube videos I’ve seen, $199 is a good value for the amount of gear you are getting. I think these are the Indonesian made guitars.
