Prices on cameras have been inflated for a while, but looks like they might be coming down.

I was looking for a 2c pro, but this came up as part of a limited time offer and I figure I can switch around my cameras so that it's pointing in a spot where the lower res (1080p) won't be an issue. For the price, I'll cop it.

Prices coming down because Eufy publish all your videos online for everyone to see?

    • +2

Get over it. Just don't place the camera in your dunny.

    • Can't see the 3 series anymore listed, sold out ?

  • Did Eufy fix the “clear camera and all the footage that ever existed for it on homebase” bug?
I’d like to neg if they hadn’t already fixed it 🤬

    • Yes, they fixed it with the subscription dlc that is pay per camera per month

      • +9

Step1: introduce a local storage solution
Step2: introduce a bug in local storage solution
Step3: introduce subscription to solve local storage solution
        Step4: profit??

        • You're complaining about something that will never happen. Thieves don't walk around with step ladders, looking for Eufy cameras to reset!

No thief will risk having a close up of their face caught on camera on the basis of maybe the camera can be reset because the owner isn't using RTSP, or isn't using cloud backup. The intruder will have ZERO confirmation the video was deleted.

You can set Eufy cameras to use RTSP to send recordings to your NAS instead of Homebase, which solves the "problem" without needing to subscribe to anything.

    Matching bunnings price?

  • Eufy seems to have jacked up the prices for most of their products (I guess following others). Eg the Floodlight Cam 2 Pro has gone from $449 to $549.

    • well they're a bit more cautious about selling your data, so gotta make up for the profit loss.
