Had my eye on these aquarium tanks for awhile now but could never afford the sky high prices.

50% off list price + 3.75% CB via shopback is available on the Petstock website & you can also earn frequent flyer points if you connect your Qantas FF to their rewards program (account registration required).

Brings it down to:

$152.075 - 23L + FF points (used to be $316)

$202.125 - 46L + FF points (used to be $421)

The 23L and 46L are both half price with stock available all around Sydney last I checked.

I got the 23L myself for a nano tank, set up was nice and easy, tank itself was of good quality, plastic pieces fit very well no rattling, light is just bright enough and aquaclear filter included is always a bonus and boy does it look good.

You could 100% argue that the price is still too much for a tank of this size. The simple counter to that is - does any other tank look like this one (it's fabulous), include a good quality filter (Aquaclear 20), and very easy to set up (everything is included apart from a filter).

Mod 19/4 730am: Only limited stores still showing stock. One store spotted: PETstock Marsden Park Click & Collect Available In Store Available)

    These are awesome

  • but 3.75 off hardly what id consider a bargain?

    • +5

That's just additional, it's 50% off standard list price + the shopback 3.75 & FF.

*Post was revised to make that clearer, thanks for the heads up!

      • Ahh now that is cool, wasn't listed in the original listing.

Nobody should be putting anything but a dozen neons or a beta in this thing.

    • +1

Make good tanks for shrimp or even neon tetras, also good as fry pens

    • That's exactly the plan, nice little planted aquarium with shrimp and friendly nano fish.

      This was the inspiration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4FJ6msdh80&ab_channel=fabio…

    • Why? There are tons of nano fish, danios, raspboras, others tetras, guppies will do decent in a 46L….

    • Decent little Apistogramma tank.

I have the 46L tank and it's great. However can be a pain for weekly maintenance. Mainly keeping cherry shrimps and pygmy corys.

+1, great looking tank, but difficult to clean.

  • Are the plants plastic?

    • +2

      plants not included

  • -2

The price is still too much for a tank of this size.

  • I can't find any for delivery

There's stock here and there, personally I bought it in store @Rouse Hill today and that's where I saw the sale.

I could be wrong, but you could try calling your local store to ask them to transfer stock or prepare for delivery?

Rouse Hill this afternoon had 1 more 23L left + their display model which was also for sale (they told me 15% off current list price for the display model).

      • Closest store is about 150km away, so it's probably direct delivery or nothing: closest store with stock is 350km away :(

  • 46L is tiny.

    • For a 🐋

      • When I was 12 all I could afford was a 120L one becaused we lived in a small unit and that was small. Big is around 1000L.

  • 5% cashback on cashrewards i believe!

Do you find the manual light annoying? No option to have it on a timer might be a deal breaker for me

    • +1

I have it hooked up to a separate timer.

  • I have too many tanks. Bruh, why do this to me!?

  • Pretty tank, but probably one of the worst to maintain. Unless you have slim hands and a very flexible wrist.

  • good for shrimp?

    • +1

      Great little shrimp tank.

      • ty 🙂

  • Is it just me or is the 46L displaying the wrong image? Ie. It should be the taller model.

  • Anyone have experiance on those no lid tanks with cats at home?

This similarly sized tank from Amazon has free delivery and is only $150.

  • Good deal but no stock around Victoria. Apparently the tank is now discontinued.

    • Still a few 23l at the Chadstone store as of Friday 21st, if you’re looking to get your hands on one.

      • Thank you!

    • +1

I just picked one from Eltham, and there's stock at Box Hill and Mitcham too

  • Thanks OP, got a 23L. Slight downgrade from my prior 7ft but will be a fun little project.

  • I also picked up a 23l today, a downgrade from my last 500l display tank but it will be a fun project until the next big setup.
For those in Vic, the Chadstone store still has a few in stock. I saw at least two others there in the click ‘n collect area, so get in quick!

    • Thanks mate I’ll take a squiz now

  • Hey, those that purchased the tank. Did you have any issues installing the pre filter? (Black sponge) I can’t get mine to fit properly as when it’s on, the water does not pump

    • i have no issue after following the setup instructions:

      • set flow to max
      • fill up water in filter compartment
      • turn on power, run for about 30-40secs, it'll flush out air and start pumping water inlet/outlet
      • Thanks for your reply!
I ended up getting it to work after playing around with it.

For whatever reason I could only fit the sponge on last after setting up the rest of the pump.

So I basically had to insert the sponge submerged in water.

Good thing it’s still just cycling.

        • my fluval edge set doesn't come with any water conditioner and bio bacteria. What about yours? i read online that this set comes with 2 small bottles to help kick-start the tank

          • @DarthLord: Yeah mine had both along with the pre sponge filter, albeit the API quick start it came with expired last month but the tap water conditioner expired in 2025

            • @Toeyz: Oh mine doesn't come with it.. guess the shop took it out. Anyway to get a refund?

              • @DarthLord: I suspect they took it out because it’s expired. I’d call the store and ask. The box says it’s included so they should be able to give you one off their shelf

                • @Toeyz: Went back to the store, and they gave me 2 X 30ml.bottles of Fluval water conditioner and bio. But Bio has expired on Jan23 and they do not have other stock in hand.

But in the first place, why did they removed it from the Aquarium kit? Strange and trouble for me to make another trip there.. not impressed

                  • @DarthLord: Yeah that’s strange. Nevertheless I think it should be still ok to use and glad you got something in the end. Mine came with API products. Better than nothing hey!
Hope you enjoy the tank. Our toddler is loving it haha.

          • @DarthLord: The store I bought from had a bunch of the small bottles in their bargain bin, marked with $5 stickers. Maybe people have been returning them because of the short expiry date?
My box came with the three bottles :)
