Back when the prices were $1 less on some things. Shrink flation

Heated up cardboard box no thanks, going to work on making home pizzas from now on

    • Used to be better than that even, traditional were $6 and premium $8.

  • domino's pricing - isnt this the same like every week the price…?

    • Nah, prices have all gone up (again) recently, at least for value range they have - up to $7 now…

  • Jeezus… Premium pizzas used to be 8 bucks for these specials! That escalated quickly! 🤦🏻

  • 5 pepperoni for 5 bucks. No thanks!

Just looked at their pricing. A cheese pizza is now $7? A mini supreme is $6? Even a mini Hawaiian is $4.75..

Are Domino's trying to run themselves out of business? This is exactly what Pizza Hut need to gain traction and market share again.

So some pizzas basically going back to prices they were last year but have already been shrinking for a while anyways?

    • +2

Pizza’s have not shrunk since last year. This wouldn’t be possible or economical to shrink pizzas as it would require every Domino’s store to purchase new pans that are different size thus costing loads of money.

      • +2

True but btw what about the topping proportions, do you know if they have decreased the quantity of stuff that’s meant to go on a pizza?

        • +1

Topping portions have actually increased (e.g Pepperoni) now has 90g of cheese (was 75g).

      • -2

Buying loaded pepperoni pizzas and standard pepperoni pizzas are basically the same thing and I'm definitely not gonna dare buy the pepperoni deluxe because there is no way there would be 100 pieces of pepperoni on that

      • +2

You can still use the same pan but less dough and toppings. Hence less pizza. Noticed specifically how flat the deep pan has gotten.

        • They might have reduced the toppings, I agree.
But whilst making and laying dough in the pans, they do spread them out to the edges or otherwise it would be hard to keep it round in shape.

          • @Gervais fanboy: Yeah the diameter would have to remain the same but last time I got a deep pan it was basically classic crust.

            • -2

@pennypincher98: Maybe they ran out of deep pan bases and just replaced it with a traditional pizza base instead?

        • +2

Noticed specifically how flat the deep pan has gotten.

That’s likely a store issue. The deep pan dough would be flat if it has not been allowed enough time to proof (i.e they’re using new dough before old dough or they haven’t left the dough out long enough after sheeting to reach the proof height).

Recently $3 per pizza, then a step higher to $4. Now it's $5. Literally walking us up every fortnight or so.

    Not available at your store.

Thanks for shrinking your pizzas, jacking your prices 3 times in a year, advertising a discount back to the previous prices, and then telling me I have to pay the inflated price anyway.

Even a fancy Italian restaurant charges less per weight… Why would anyone buy Domino's now?
