Back in my day we had to catch all our Pokémon and go to a real live event to hopefully get a mew

    • Literally the first thing that happens in any of those games is that you're handed a pokemon lol

Managed to get 2 at the carindale one as I sent my mates little brother up to get it as well haha.

When I was younger, I remember visiting Westfield Southland to get a Celebi for Pokémon Gold/Silver.

      EDIT: This event - 2001…that was 22 years ago…

I think I missed the celebi, but I definitely went to westfield hurstville with my pokemon blue cartridge to get a mew. Good times.

    Doesn't Pokemon Scarlett suck?

Most mature scenario of any pokemon games, I personnaly really enjoyed it.

      • Ok but everything but the text?

        • Gameplay is fun, story is pretty ok for pokemon, but graphics and performance were pretty horrible. YMMV on if that impacts your enjoyment.

          • @yunsul: It seemed strange that previous games didn't have the same issue. Did they fix it by patches or not really?

            • +1

@Budju: Depends on your definition of fixed. They patched it so that the fps while on water improved to fall in line with everyone else, but the fps is quite bad considering other games that have more advanced graphics run better.

However, a lot of the complaints seem to be from people using slower micro SD cards, which I recall a YouTube video doing a test on? Something to do with the game having to load textures often and game engine being wonky with how the game handles frames.

Aside from that and the weird bugs, game was enjoyable.

              • @DangerNoodle: I experienced pretty bad frame dropes too and I was running the game off the physical cartridge which I assume would give the best performace? It still felt a bit yucky to me.

                • @yunsul: YouTubers found that the best performance seemed to be from the digital version installed onto the internal memory of the switch rather than the physical cartridge, at least that was the case the last time I tried. Even then, performance was still pretty bad considering there are better looking games that run better.

Played Arceus? I loved Arceus up until I found out I had to capture every Pokemon available.
