Doesn't Bunnings best it by 10%?

Yes! You are right. I mixed with officeworks.

I have had this for a while and it's pretty inconsistent.

The notifications don't work and there is a fair amount of lag despite a mesh network in place.

Could just be my setup but I ended up getting an Aqara G4 instead.

    • How do you find the aqara over it

      • +1

Aqara is a bit better with it's AI face detection and has a few other fancy bells and whistles. None are perfect but Aqara is def way better at 197 AUD than Eufy.

I've got this and I'm a big fan.
Lots of ways to adjust and tweak, but works great by default. Only negative I can say would be the Two-way audio can be somewhat delayed, but it works. Video quality is great. Motion detection is good, I don't miss anything and can't think of any false positives I've had. Wired base station for setup, then can switch to wireless if you prefer. Kids can pop up the live camera onto the Google nest hub with it's semi-integration. I don't know if alerts directly to the nest hub will be enabled, or can be already?

    • same here, it works fine, some expected delay but it’s ok with visitors as they stay on the door longer. Couriers/Australia post they don’t even ring on the bell anymore, they just drop things an leave so by the time you get the notification they are already gone. I would only upgrade for the 2 camera doorbell, the 2nd camera pointing downwards to capture parcels left on the floor bit I already have a reolink camera looking at the door anyway

      • Ive got CCTV as well. I got this more for getting alerts for people at the front door (like a normal doorbell), a doorbell/intercom for when I'm not home, and to allow people in when they arrive through the Meross garage system.

My notifications come through relatively quickly - about 5 seconds after being spotted I get a pop-up on the phone with a notification and a photo preview.

My neighbour has the double camera which I setup for them. It's a good idea but I'm not sure whether it's necessary with good placement of this one, and with the CCTV I won't be upgrading to it.

  • 180-day battery life -? then you can take it out and replace or recharge like an AA battery?

    • +1

Has a USB C recharge port for the battery. Just unplug it and recharge it.

      • thanks for that!

      • isn't it micro usb?

        • Yep, mine (2k, this one) is micro-USB. The double camera model may have been upgraded to USB-C?

        • oops, you're right…

    • +1

if you attach it to the existing doorbell wires no need to recharge, installation was pretty straightforward

  • Why do you want to replace Ring? Does this work better than Ring?

    • +1

Ring requires a subscription to review recordings vs Eufy which records on local storage.

    • I am generally happy with Ring doorbell for the last three years. However, they had increased their subscription fee which is enough to buy another device if you stay with them for long. Also, I am purchasing some security cameras and that means I have to pay even higher subscription fees for them.

  • You can get this if you don’t have many Eufy devices

    • Thanks! That actually looks more like what I’m looking for - a wireless door bell with video that has a decent battery life.

I’m not invested in any particular eco-system so this seems to present as a cheaper option for me

  • Is it eufy or ring that can be reset and wipe the data at the door?

  • This same doorbell was 254 a month ago, so this isn’t an amazing deal for anyone who can wait
