Foxtel - Have You Been Able to Get a Discount?

I'm paying an absolute fortune for foxtel at the moment… I went on chat, and they offered me a paltry $10 off per month (when new customers get $40 off per month!).
Has anyone been successful at getting a larger discount from telstra for this?

  • I ring up Foxtel every six months and threaten to quit.
    I currently pay $62.50 for Foxtel plus, sport, hd (Inc 4k sport) and 2x iq4 boxes (which allows Foxtel go on 5 devices and the ability to cast). I bet you get a better price with Foxtel direct than via Telstra, especially if you don't bundle any other products (there bundle offers are usually rubbish).

  • when i called up to cancel a few years ago they were not bothered on even offering anything for me to stay. Best decision to leave them for fetch, have saved a fortune

  • If you get Kayo Basic + Binge Standard, you can split with a friend and get one stream each for $23.

    • $39 here for HD, Sport and Movies…which is a good deal. As with other Posters, you ring and select a cancellation date a week or two in the future. Forget the offer that the person on the phone makes, just say you are determined to cut the service as it's too expensive. Within 48 hours a more 'senior' person will ring back to negotiate…this has happened to me on the last few occasions that the twelve month contract is up. Good luck!

  • Call and threaten to quit, I called once and got offered nothin, called a second time and got a discount for 12 months if I resign contract. Was not much $20 a month off. Considering they have lost so many channels over the past 6 months I would cancel it if my mum didn’t watch it daily!

  • I cut back my service by $20 a month and they reinstated those channels for free, they also installed my new ariel for free on the roof

    • Installed a new antenna for free? Please explain this. I have been getting the "we have to upgrade your set top box" warning for months. The cable connections is getting turned off but it's the way we get FTA on the foxtel feed.

        I am in sydney, foxtel by telstra. I got that upgrade box message and called to book a tecnician and said I did not know how to install the new box. I was clueless. They sent a guy who did everything, including geting up on the roof and installing an antenna.
