Problems with Game Pass bought with VPN trick

Hey guys, I used the good old VPN trick to buy Game Pass before the price rise:

Wondering if anybody else is having the issue where opening the Game Pass app and trying to find games, it's showing blank? Whether for the Show all, or any of the categories, they all come up empty.

A workaround I found is to go into the Store, go through the Game Pass product page and find games from the list of games available, but it's a little clunky.

Anybody found a fix for this?

EDIT: forgot to mention that I'm on Xbox Series X console, although same problem happens on PC, and Web. Games show up fine in the mobile app though.

    Even tried going to MS support but after navigating a byzantine maze of options the only options were to talk to a bot or look up some support articles. No call or chat to a real person available.

      did you try accessing them on a different pc.
      did you try accessing games pass app via phone/tablet to see if you can see games/launch cloud gaming as a test.

      • LOL honesty is the best policy, on the off chance they have the power to change the region on their end.

        It's the same problem with PC Game Pass/Web. The list of games comes up as empty.

        Game Pass app on mobile (Android) is OK. Games show up there, and you can set it to remote install, so that's another workaround.

          did you try using ms edge as opposed to chrome

          did you try hotspot pc / laptop to a phone (in case its an internal network issue)

            But yeah tried on work PC vs home and same result. Account based issue rather that network/device.

  • Tried restarting? Do you have the latest version of the Xbox App?

    • I have the latest firmware with the new UI, where Store and Game Pass appear as icons along the top, etc. if that's what you mean?

      EDIT: sorry just realised I forgot to specify in the OP that I was originally talking about XSX, but having the same issue for PC Game Pass too.

  • Tried changing payment method associated with the subscription, but unfortunately it doesn't let you change the country there either.

    • No dice. Basically subscriptions are region-specific (think of it as a different product for each country) so the suggested solution was to change the region of my console to match the Game Pass region (which has a 30-day lockout) or deal with it. It's not just some setting that can be changed, or so they say.
