Ripcurl Men's Wetty Crew Sock - Alternatives?

I really like these socks from Ripcurl, I found them to be very soft and comfortable.

They are fairly expensive, however, and found them somewhat more prone to holes. These are the materials: 75% acrylic, 17% elastane, 8% Polyamide

Anyone know any good alternative to these socks (similar or same materials), or are aware of a good deal for those specific Ripcurl socks? Best I could find was $18 at Ozmosis.

Cheers

  • Bonds and Uniglo socks are good BFYB

Regardless of brand, Look for something that says ‘cushioned socks’ because it is a thicker base meaning they are more comfortable and last longer

thorlos are worth checking out. they sell them on amazon.

    • Thorlos light hikers are really comfortable and wash well, at least the ones I have are. I haven’t bought Thorlos for almost 10 years because I ordered about 10 pairs back then on special - and they won’t wear out!!

      • If OP thinks $18 for a 3 pack of socks is ‘fairly expensive’, then Thorlo isn’t really the right brand to suggest… but they are excellent socks.

        • Yes, cheap socks - or any cheap footware reminds me of Douglas Adams ‘Shoe Event Horizon’…..

$6 per pair of socks is about as cheap as you can get for socks that aren’t thin cotton. However for marginally cheaper socks, check out the Decathlon range eg Artengo RS160

  • I have Hard Yakka socks identical to that in black.

Just got them from Aussie Disposals. They've been hard wearing for me.

  • My experience with adidas cushioned crew socks has been favourable, got on them during first covid lockdown and still rock them, most of the time these are worn around the house so your wear n tear may differ, super comfy, didn’t slide down, kept warm, perfect for lockdown

  • I do like Adidas, they look a bit fuzzy after a few washes tho.
