ShopBack Flagged Account Inactive

Hi,

I just tried to login to my ShopBack account and getting an error message that the account is inactive even though I’ve been using it and there’s still cashback pending for approval.

This really makes me wonder if I should use ShopBack for future purchases again if they can just disable your account out of the blue.

Anyone else having the same issue? Please share your experience in the comments.

  • Tried contacting them to ask?
    @gotyourback

It doesnt benefit them to randomly disable accts for no reason if you're using it as you suggests.

Is this the only acct in your household? More to the story that you havent told us?

LOL… people still use this company? This forum is literally littered with examples of warning signs to avoid them, least of all the "hack" that they just happened to fail to mention till it was way too late.

Dont worry, they'll post you a $3 voucher to some random place you never shop so you can forget all about it. I've seen goldfish with longer memories than OzBargain.

IIRC you hate boomers, but you sound like one rn :D

Its not just $3 voucher, people been eating (almost) free pizzas thanks to SB lord knows how many times in 2023. There was that one fine day when they offered $10 off Pizza Hut with unlimited uses.

They been beating CR regularly in terms of discounts. I agree the $1-$2 'challenges' are just crap but hey it must work on some ppl if they keep offering it.

Again, people sell their data to a company with a track record of being hacked, ripped off, denied payments, etc, the list goes on, and then act all *surprized Pikachu.jpg* when it's their turn to post up a whine post on OzBargain about how they got dudded out of something via "ShatBack"

If all your personal data is worth a useless $3 voucher to a random shop and a couple of free pizzas over the space of a year, have at it :)

        • Its pretty blatant how much you're trying to exaggerate your claims and downplay mine.

          a useless $3 voucher

Five pages of deals with big cashbacks and that's just dining/takeaway, let alone for popular retailers and Amazon.
Ask these people how many hundreds of dollars they gained from one SB deal. >$2200 cashback just from these orders.

          all your personal data

This is not the flex you think it is. A name thats nowhere near complete, an email address, no d.o.b. - good luck trying to drain my bank account or do identity theft with this info.

TBH, you're more triggered than the OP.

it happend to me the same… I have been trying to raise this issue to @gotyourback customer service but they refused to help

    • What did they say?

Yeh, find it below but honestly, it seems quite despairing. They are unwilling to delve further into my case; don't even tell me what are fraudulent activities…. really bad:

    "Hey ShopBack user,

    • flagged for fraudulent activities

Most likely to be the giftcard purchase(s) and the used card(s) having fund reversed.

do not offer an appeals process at this time

Coz Shopback is originated from a "close to dictatorship" country.

  • Sounds terrible. Hope @gotyourback will rectify this for all affected Ozbargainers.

Send him a DM if you haven’t already? I haven’t received any update from him yet.

  • No way. Horrible experience with ShopBack. Been a customer with them for almost four years and had Boost SIMs cashback pending for approval and out of no where, my account was banned. No resolution, no customer service support. Crappy.

Crazy. Feels scammed, but ugh $20 for a SIM Card. Can't trust ShopBack.
