Obligatory Warning! These comes with malware on it. You're better off getting a fresh install of Windows. No, antivirus software such as MalwareBytes or Avast will not be enough.

I just chucked Ghost Spectre on the N100 I bought a few weeks back.

MAS did the rest and voila, fully functional and stripped back N100. Perfect for the bartop arcade it now lives in.

It's just better to get a fresh install of Windows where there is going to be lower chance of malware staying vs relying on Antivirus and Microsoft Defenders. Good that you found a purpose for it.

        • You might need to google Ghost Spectre, what I wrote is the same thing.

          • @jollster101: My fault. I've done a quick google but I am very confused over what it is exactly.

            • @NotReallyaMoneySaver: Windows without the expletive deleted

            • @NotReallyaMoneySaver: It is W11 but stripped right back of all the bloat. Its good for gaming rigs or those that have a very specific use case that they want to be as lean as.

For my main laptop I run vanilla W11, for the N100 I use GS as it's very processor light and its only running Batocera 39. I also have it running on another gaming PC that is only used for that purpose.

Have a look at Youtube, a few videos on there that explains all about the offering.

              • @jollster101: How would this compare with the KAMRUI Ryzen 7 5800u was tossing up between the two and ending up buying the Ryzen. Would this be a faster PC?

And also have you already purchased this and confirmed the CPU specs. I recently bought the KAMRUI and a different CPU was supplied

            • @NotReallyaMoneySaver: I would check the UEFI security keys etc too

      • Not very tech savy, but what do you mean by MAS?

I would probably never touch anything from that company again.

    • Sometimes a fresh install of Windows won't cut it. I've bought cheap laptops in the past. Regular Windows does not have the drivers for a lot of the hardware. I even tried exporting the drivers and reimporting them and it didn't work. Linux couldn't solve that problem either.

I gave up and gave it to my nephew and told him to never use it for anything other than homework.

Why does it look like that? Has to be one I've the worst case designs in recent memory

I almost thought that mini PC has a built in projector on top of it, which, would've been an awesome idea for a portable mini PC

There's one with a 1.9" LCD screen on it that looks so much better.
This really needs to be 1TB SSD and DDR5 for $499.

        • Expectations on non-apple PCs are always high, isnt it ;) Lucky us.

      • Anyone figured out what it is? It looks like a detachable flashlight or a powerbank.

        • It's just a extended case for the knob that lets you between "performance modes" (nothing on the other side, checked the promo video)

Just thought I'd post this here as well, I recently bought the KAMRUI Ryzen 7 5800u a couple days ago and am in the process of returning it.

When you check the system specs through the BIOS, windows system settings or CPU-z program the CPU is actually a Ryzen 7 5700u even though it's clearly stated on Amazon as being a 5800u CPU which ruins the trust in this company.

Make sure you check what processor is actually installed if you bought one of these.
