[PS4] Need for Speed Heat $4.99, Deluxe Edition $5.39 @ PlayStation Store

630

NFS Heat is on sale again at the same price it was a month ago. $5. If you were too indifferent to buy it then but your ambivalence has now diminshed to the point where it probably is more economical to just pay the money than waste your time thinking about a $5 purchase, I mean for god sakes I just bought a bottle of milk at Woolies and I didnt even look at the price. That was probably nearly as much even tho it was just home brand stuff. Hang on a bit where did I put that milk, cant see it lying around, did I leave it in the car again. Oh FFS. Still feels faintly cold tho, smells fine. Probably still okay to drink. Should I give it to the children…

also $5 at xbox and steam

    • Could you please send a link for xbox nfs. I didn't see them on sale.

      • oh it was on sale yesterday but doesn't appear to be on sale now.

  • I bought this last time it was on special, it's actually surprisingly ok and somewhat reminiscent of the worst wanted days.
    Well and truly worth $5

    • worst wanted?

      • New game.

  • This has terrible racing wheel support fyi

    • +4

Playing a NFS game with a steering wheel is like tagging a fence with fine oil paints.

      • its not the worst idea, the game has literally more functions than buttons. Art imitates life - you have multiple buttons for interacting with your in-game cellphone while driving but if you use the manual shifting mode (and if you expect to do well in the drift events at all, you have to) theres not enough buttons, or the layout was incredibly unintuitive/dumb.

the follow up game is better in every aspect.

      • Meh just fun to play with racing wheel especially for the kids.

had a lot of fun playing this since last deal

  • Any of these support local multiplayer ?

  • NFS Heat and Unbound are genuinely quite fun games for a quick pickup/play arcade racers. On the better side of 'fine'. Great if you can get them cheap/free! I enjoyed both (didn't try to 100% them, though).

  • Purchased near on release, was so disappointed, sold afterwards on Marketplace. But for $5 it's a no-brainer, I'll buy a digital copy.

  • Some other Need for Speed games are on sale too. Can I have people's thoughts on which ones are best / worth it?

    • Hot Pursuit Remastered is worth it, was created by the guys who made Burnout and plays very similar to those games.

      • Yeah, Criterion's version of Hot Pursuit is probably my all-time favourite arcade racing game (alongside Burnout 3: Takedown, also by Criterion). I think it was the only game I ever for the Platinum trophy for (on PS3), and the remaster is well worth getting.

They also made NFS Unbound which I know a lot of people liked but I just couldn't get into it. The whole aesthetic with the weird cartoony kind of effects and the general vibe of the story where pretty much everyone is an annoying **** put me right off.

  • Is 30 fps on PS5 a really bad experience I wonder?

  • Cheers OP, picked up Hot Pursuit Remastered for my boy for $5.99.

  • This or Unbound for $10?

    • +1

General consensus is people preferred this but Ive only played unbound and it was awesome, for $10 you'll get a decent amount of play out of it

  • I played this on game pass and it was nice throwback to the NFS games of the past. Worth $5 imo I got a solid few days out of it.

  • Hello. Anybody knows if it works with ps3
