Looking for 1440p Monitor Recommendations

I recently built my first pc but I have a 1080p 75hz monitor so I want to upgrade to a 1440p 144+hz monitor. I don’t want to spend a lot though so I have been eyeing the ViewSonic 27in QHD 180hz IPS monitor (VX2728-2K-180) but there aren’t many reviews on it. Does anybody own this monitor or can give suggestions for better ones ($330 max preferably).

Thank you

  • Don't forget you will need a better GPU to drive 1440p monitors :/

    • Oh yeah, forgot to mention I have a 4070 in the build. Is that enough for 1440p?

      eh?
I'm at the moment using an 8 year old PC with Intel® HD Graphics 4600 . Handles 1440p just fine. No tearing.
30Hz is plenty for video, but you want 60Hz for desktop GUI.

      • Maybe he meant at 144hz

        • OK, sorry, I just noticed his handle. Perhaps a super-human frame-rate will help him at video games.
Questioning gamers is like asking audiophiles if they really need 144 kHz sampling :)

      • So this old PC handles AAA games at 1440p perfectly fine then?!?

HINT: There is a difference between DISPLAYING 1440p content and GAMING at 1440p …

The OPs 4070 will not play AAA games at 1440p @ 144Hz … hence the GPU upgrade comment ;)

OP said nothing about playing games. Nor did you. So I assumed he had some more important purpose in mind ;-)

    AOC Q27G2S/EU 27" QHD IPS 2K 165Hz Adaptive Sync Gaming Monitor = $318

I have 155 Hz previous version of this, works well with G-Sync on DP. Mine specifically says G-Sync monitor in the box but looks like the new version mentions as VRR adaptive sync.

BTW, your Viewsonic VX2728-2K 180Hz monitor is cheaper at $279 and could be better than this.

  • You can sometimes get ultra wide curved ones ons ale with 1440 vertical pixels. That would be the sweet spot imo, the biggest you can afford.

  • Xiaomi Mi 34" 144Hz 2K WQHD for <$500 is a pretty solid option.

  • Hey mate, I bought this one not too long ago and its a great budget option. I'm very happy with it and the 3440x1440 is amazing for gaming and productivity work
