This one or Roborock S8 Pro Ultra? Pros and Cons?

    • Dreame wins by far, 6000pa robo vs 7000pa dreame - plus the mops auto cleaning

      https://versus.com/en/dreame-l20-ultra-vs-roborock-s8-pro-ul…

      • Thank you for the response.
I believe both have mop auto cleaning. On most reviews, 6000pa vs 7000pa has no visible difference.
I saw a lot of complaints about dreame customer service in Australia and harder to find parts hence being a bit more inclined to Roborock.

    welp, i just bought it.

never thought I'd post 2k for something like this 🤔

    • +1

The best way to think about it is how much time back are you getting by letting it clean the floor on your behalf - that's how I try to convince me :)

      • +2

that's exactly right! I'm going to try and map my place and mums, then it'll be a real bargain.

vacuuming is one thing, but i hate mopping!

Will never buy another dreame again. Narwal is where its at.

First I’ve heard of that brand will keep an eye out

    • I looked at it but local support and parts seems to be harder to find/get in Australia. How was your experience with it?

      • Terrible. They asked for more then 5 videos of it missing patches in the mopping area, not getting close enough to the walls etc. I ended up doing a charge back because they wouldnt refund me after telling me my dark grey tiles are the issue not the vaccum.

        • Apologies, I asked about your experience with Narwal. TA

          • +1

@CuriOZ: Ah, well it for one works correctly on my dark grey tiles and somehow its mopping system (looks nearly the same) functions far better.

            • @ashumz: Is it Narwal x ultra you mean, I am tossing in between Narwal and Roborock revo Maxv. Could you please tell a little more about Narwal's experience especially for hair tangle and hows edge cleaning. I have husky sheds a lot and glossy tiles. Thanks

              • +1

@Rose123: The Narwal Freo is what I have, its fantastic at mopping and dog hair but it has no automatic bin dispenser. I believe they have fixed that in the x ultra. Would 1000000% purchase another Narwal.

                • +1

@ashumz: Thanks made my decision easier, Narwal X ultra is a breeze , no dispenser but another technology to lastfor 7 weeks , just check it out the specs if you haven't …thanks

I have bad experience with Dreame customer support as it was tedious process for them to convince the problem ( had to more than 10 video clips to convince them it need a repair!)
My Unit gives trouble in 8 months!!!!

    • I read a few back reviews of their customer support hence my question on how it compares to Roborock. Thank you for sharing.

L10s ultra complete is $1499 on Amazon

  • How does this compare with the roborock qrevo maxv?

  • I'm not sure about customer service, probably I'm lucky, both of mine are not having any problem so far.
This is one of the best robot vacuum I've ever used. It is easy to maintain, mops, sweepers, rollers, etc are very easy to dissemble and install. Big water tanks, probably 4L (I'm not sure), I have them mop 6 days per week, and I have to refill them twice a week.
The app needs more work. You cannot arrange vacuum, allow 5-6 virtual walls, heap of functions and sometimes hard to find. Mapping is good, deep details, and I like the remote camera function a lot.

  • I tried to buy this last year when amazon had it up for like $1700, but my order was cancelled. This is the best deal I've seen since. Tempted to buy it, but also, if I'm spending this much, tempted to hold out for the S8 Pro MaxV… I'm worried they're going to take the piss with their launch price though.

      👋 Hey I remember you.
I was in the same boat, finally happy I didn't get it as the reviews are pretty mixed.
If the s8 pro maxv is too expensive you can always get the q revo Max v, I still think it's a better one.

Let me know which one you get.

      • Hahaha yeah!! I think I would've been happy with it. None of the reviews have been bad. But here we are. I tried to summarise the pros and cons of the l20s vs the S8 maxv to the wife. This is what I got:

        Dreame L20s: $2000
        - Ability to drop mop pads off
        - Extending mopping side arm (good and map as it can leave gaps)

        Roborock S8 MaxV
        - Can raise mop pads 20mm (which is actually double anything on the market)
        - Fixed side brush for edge mopping (probably better as it doesn't leave gaps)
        - Flex arm for side brush vacuuming
        - Built in voice so if you're vacuuming the house, you can tell it to go away directly. (Both support google home specific room cleaning though)
        - Hot water mop washing
        - Seems to be best obstacle avoidance.

There's obviously lots of difference but I think these were the big ones.

I currently have a roborock s5 and it was great, but obstacle avoidance annoyed me. Now we live a big house with a baby and lots of floorboards. Obstacle avoidance is a big deal for me. As is maintenance like hair tangling and dock cleaning.
I don't think I'll mind changing the water on the dock, but I want to be able to clean it easily too.

        • I really wanted the s8 maxv ultra but the price is too high so I ended up taking the q revo MaxV for $1700.
The other option was the l10s pro ultra for a similar price but the navigation and app is clunky.
However it has the soap dispenser and looks nicer imo.

Which one did you get at the end?

            @ValouSydney: i know it's been a week brother :p but still hadn't pulled the trigger….
Until now, got the S8 MaxV, was $2.5 at David jones… and I got jb to price match and then purchased it with gift cards @ 10% off…

Still pricey, but not quite $3k pricey… I actually think the differences between the l20 to the MaxV's is all pretty minor. I've watched my fair share of reviews on them all, and they all have pros and cons. But I feel like the S8 MaxV was the most premium and since I'm already spending so much, may as well go that last bit.

It should be delivered on the 1st, will be a huge upgrade from the S5 I bought years ago. Hope it lives up the price tag. I have a lot of faith in its cleaning ability, but what I want is best in class obstacle avoidance and hair tangling.

  • I returned my Dreame L10s Ultra because the dock was faulty. So I'll be avoiding Dreame for the foreseeable future.
