Monsuta Supreme 350ml (Case of 24) $61 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Dan Murphy's (Free Membership Required)

100

Another Japanese lager deal. This one is for members only and drops the price of the delicious Monsuta Supreme to $61 from $72 - $11 saved!

$58 in QLD

This is definitely brewed in Japan and imported. It’s essentially a clone of the Orion lager from Okinawa.

Enjoy!

Even better Shows $58 for me in QLD

    • That’s awesome news! Congratulations!

This is a made exclusively for Dan Murphy’s Private Label beer that happens to be made in Japan so they can say it’s imported. I’m not suggesting it’s not good, but it’s not sold in Japan

100% not sold in Japan! No. But it is made there and imported for Dan exclusively. As I said it’s a clone of the Orion lager made in Okinawa. It is delicious if you like Japanese lager, not quite up there with premium malts but that’s super hard to get very rarely on offer.

I drink some of Pinnacle’s other fake craft beers , I drink what I like based on the price I can get, so I’m not ragging on this and might try it, the whole brand washing though like it’s some 200 year old beer is a bit lame.

        • @Capitalshark totally hear you!

Great price, thank you. I happily imbibe Monsuta from Dan's and Orion from First Choice

      • +2

Orion is slightly better (and really tasty on tap), the 75 Pilsener better again and the dark lager especially tasty.

        • I found the opposite with supreme being better than Orion, the other monsuta not so much but the supreme is great.

          • @Spendmore: Did you try the 75 or The Dark? Really enjoyed both, and they're for sale at Liquorland etc.

            • +1

@Ham Dragon: Yes I didnt mind the 75 and I wasn't aware of the dark, thanks for the tip.

        • I suspect that Orion Draft is the exact same beer as the Monsuta Draft, just with the stupid Dan Murphys labelling. I think the Monsuta Supreme is possibly the same beer as Pilsner 75 too.
Unfortunately it looks like bws/first choice have stopped selling the 75. Excellent beer.

  • How's this Supreme version compare to the Dry?

    • +2

It’s more malty, and less “clean” and refreshing as the dry - its trying to be like Premium
Malts. Doesn’t quite make it but tries hard and at this price is great value

    • +1

I much prefer the dry. Easier to drink

  • Draft or lager? Both on special in QLD

    • Both are on offer in NSW as well but the discount is much smaller on the standard Monsuta. I would say depends on your tastes. If you want more of an Asahi style Japanese lager then go for dry if you want more of a malty taste go with Supreme ☺️

This is the goods - I got in from BWS with the last SB cashback deal a few weeks back. It's about $3 cheaper than BWS (in WA anyways) but worth it - thanks OP!

    Thanks op.
This is produced by Orion in Okinawa Japan.
I find the monsuta dry tastes better than Asahi Superdry.
I believe Asahi owns a part of Orion
