  • I've been eyeing up Wera alternatives but that price is very tempting.

FWIW I've just returned the Wera alternative to Amazon because I dropped the ratchet and it landed awkwardly and broke off the direction selector (which is tiny and made from low strength cast metal). I have another micro ratchet that cost less than $20 and it seems to be as good quality. I think I'm just going to replace the Wera kit with a set of bits and small sockets and keep using my other rathet.

  • $15 delivery to metro ADL :(

    • Was just about to say it - little steep.

    • yea that sucks :(

    • Same for me in Canberra. Their standard delivery used to be $10.

I just checked their shipping T&C's and they now charge a standard flat rate of $14.95 for non bulky items.

    • You can always price match at Total Tools and pickup local (Adelaide, Canberra etc) to avoid delivery.

      • Worth trying for sure. I am not buying one (already have all the socket sets I need) but it would literally cost me at least $10 in petrol to drive to my local Total Tools or Sydney Tools anyway.

I reckon total tools would only match with postage included given no Tools Warehouse stores in SA

        • Price matching locally is what I told last time I wanted one, or include postage. My local Dans said store had to be within 15kms, and Bunnings said store was closed saturday so couldn't get in time so wasn't same as them being open with stock. Seems some stores are feeling the pain of price matches and know the price match you are seeking isn't practical for you, a polite "sure go there and get it LOL".

Cute kit. I got one of these for free when buying a bigger set.

    • Same, was when Masters was closing down.

  • Price match at Sydney tools?

  • I've been using this kit as an electrician for a number of years and it has gotten me out of quite a few jams.

    Up vote for metric only.

  • Great set, use this set 99% of the time. very rarely do I need something larger out of the work ute.

Submitted a price match request to Total Tools, so fingers crossed they're willing to honour it

If they do, could you please post? it may help others thinking of doing the same.

      • Second that! Thanks

Received price match, order total $37.74 from Total tools for Tas pickup, don't have Tools Warehouse Stores here.

          • @arsenal1: Very nice- thanks for posting

          • +1

@arsenal1: I got one too but they only matched with postage so $52.69. No Tools Warehouse near me either (SA). What was the name of the agent who emailed you?

    • Same. My local has stock so that might help…maybe.

Great little kit. Got it free with the RS electronics deal many years ago.

    • Had to look the deal up, 10 years ago! I got a set then too, love using it. satisfies like 90% of my socket set needs without having to get the much bigger set out, very convenient.

Ha! I also availed myself of that now-distant RS Electronics deal, and use this socket set all the time.

        it's a surprisingly high-quality piece of kit.

  • I've seen claims that quality has dropped since production allegedly moved from Taiwan to China. I don't own any Bahco stuff, so I can neither confirm or deny.

    • From what I have read the majority of their tools are made in Europe with some made in Taiwan. I know my shifter and hacksaw were made in Sweden.

I just checked a couple of other tools I have that I could think of off the top of my head, and the couple of screwdrivers I have were made in Spain and their is no COO on the deburring tool, so probably Taiwan.

      • Could be just this set, idk.
