Why Is eBay Allowed to Keep Thieves on It's Platform?

Was looking up some jewellery items today on eBay and noticed one of the sellers has year old negative feedback with people stating that seller lists fakes with no gold and silver content.

I know many sellers are getting away with this but why is it not being dealt with and is eBay liable? I've read feedback of buyers saying they've reported it to eBay so eBay knows about it for months maybe years but the seller keeps listing.

Are there pozzers or only neggers? How do you know the neggers aren’t trying to scam the sellers?

    OP has a valid point.
I keep tossing up on how much I spend where online.
Ebay should be better policed but many alternative sites are worse.

I recently bought a refurbished phone from a Marketplace seller on Catch, which I believed to be Green Gadgets, as the text started with 'hello we are Green Gadgets a trusted Marketplace seller' and the images had GG logo and other. I bought an iPhone SE3 and was sent an SE1. Not only did this seller fraudulently pass himself off as another well known business, based on his feedback, he always sends an SE1 for the SE3 listing. There never was an SE3. I kicked up a stink with Catch but all they would offer was a refund if I returned the phone. Seller still on Catch, apparently they don't have a problem with behaviour like that.

Do the listings actually say gold coloured or gold plated/rolled/etc.?

It's a lot of he said she said type issues.

What stops me as a rival jeweller going on and buying some cheap items then leaving feedback that it's fake? Or just a scammer looking to get back their money?

Otherwise I'm pretty sure ebay has a policy of removing sellers if they have too many negative strikes, so imagine something else is going on here.

  • Ebay is only place I've received counterfeit goods from. Nowadays, I will only buy from sellers with physical stores. All other ones I value at aliexpress prices.

  • Why is OZB allowed to keep defamers on its forums?

  • Equally, eBay give a seller which has 10% of their sales given a negative rating as :

One of eBay's most reputable sellers.
    Consistently delivers outstanding customer service.
