For anyone wondering how this compares to the Coles deal starting Wednesday. Coles will be selling the 70pk for $27.60 = 39.4c a tab.

So subscribe and save is a half decent saving of around $5 over coles price (per tab, for 168 tabs worth).

These tablets are some of the most effective around, they also make the dishes smell of chemicals in my experience so I don't buy them anymore.

    • +8

Yep can’t stand tablets that makes dishes have the chemical smell. End up wasting time rinsing again.

      • +1

Yes same, I'm trying Somat and it looks reasonably well with no residual smell

        • Somat is my go to also.

  • +2

There's always an option without fragrance. I recently bought the Undo This Mess from Earth Choice. It works well.

    Aldi tablets beat this.

      How Logixcal…

        ba dum dish

    • Which one? Normal or the platinum better?

      • +1

Aldi platinum just changed from tablets to capsules. Up from 19c to 26c. I've bought a pack of capsules but I haven't used it yet. The platinum tablets were great though.

        • I missed the platinum tablets too, they were such good value.

        • I bought a box of Logix Platinum 18 in 1 today and noticed a shiny new silver box next to them, but didn't pay any attention. Is that the capsules?

These 18 in 1 seem to work really well, hopefully they will keep making them.

    • -1

      They don't make it anymore.

      • +1

I’m not sure why people repeatedly said this. But they are still on the shelves at my local aldis

        • Which Aldi in Sydney have this? I checked 3 Aldi stores and none of them have the platinum 18 in 1 silver box pack

          • @shivaussie: I’m not in Sydney but they are definitely in Melbourne.

Having said this, the Cole’s tablets are cheaper and work well in my dishwasher. But will move to powder next

    • Well I'm curious now. I must buy the Aldi ones next time to try. The annoying thing about aldi is that they don't have a 10 items or less counter, I only ever buy their Ice Tea when I go past an Aldi.

  • +5

After switching back to Aldi powder I don’t know why I used to waste my money on these

    • +1

There is no real reason to use tablets unless you are lazy.

There are very good reasons to not use tablets.

      • I thought those tablets were discontinued, good news if they weren’t

        • They are still available

      • They have a blue plastic bottle version which is just the loose powder with a flip top lid. Doesn't look like it's on their website.

Having put up with the Fairy chemical stuff too for a while I'm now trying both the loose powder and the non-capsule boxed tabs.

If the loose powder works well I might stock up on that, lest they are forced to change supplier or something again later.

I'm too worried their new capsule tabs are gonna be the same issue as Fairy…

        • the logix powder leaves white chalky gunk on all my plastics now- fn hate it!! it used to be fine before. anyone else having this problem? any alternatives?

          • @derdew: Maybe you need to run a clean cycle and clean the washer filter.

          • @derdew: Maybe you're using too much?

            • @lordra: I thought that too- I don't use anymore than a teaspoon, and it still happens

      • +1

No, it’s the powder in a blue bottle. Then you put some powder in the resourvoir and some sprinkled on the door of the dishwasher. There’s a video on YouTube explaining it all. Here’s a shorter version of what to do. This effectively means you’re getting detergent in the pre wash cycle effectively washing the dishes twice.

        • I use this method as well and use the short cycle for most of my washes. I miss my old Vulcan dishwasher that heated the water to a decent temperature on a short cycle

    • 20 years of supply sorted

IMO a powder is far superior to any tablet you'll buy

    • Any recommendations?

      • Aldi again

I bought a 1kg bottle of Shine Dishwasher Powder from woolies thinking it's only $4 what am I going to lose anyway

turns out they clean my dishes really well, not much fragrance smell either.

I just pour 1/3 ~ 2/3 cup of it into the detergent holder, and a little bit (less than 1/3 cup) of it into the pre-wash compartment (or just pour it to the bottom of the dishwasher… same deal)

best of all is I still haven't even finished my first bottle yet after so long…

never going to buy tablets anymore.

        • Good point about just putting the prewash anywhere in the machine, I am going to do this now instead of aiming for the tiny compartment

    • +1

A major benefit of using powder is having it handy to add a little to the otherwise neglected 'prewash' part of the dispenser. Then I find you can put much less in the main dispenser..

      • +4

when I used to use Aldi tablets, if I have really dirty dishes I'd cut a small piece into the pre-wash compartment….

too much trouble tho…. moved to powder and never looked back.

Your opinion is contrary to Choice expert testing.

      • +1

what makes "choice expert" definitely correct?

they might be relatively correct — as in out of what they tested, it wasn't as good as the rest of the products.

or they might be just wrong?

I'd like the privilege of having this level of trust at some stage. lol

  • What is the benefit of tablets over pouring in a bit of powder?

  • Back in stock? 5 left I think
