      How were Amazon with replacements? My parents Fire Stick 4K Max has had its remote died - about 20 months old.

        Amazon replaced one of the dead ones. I used it for a short while until the Chromecasts arrived.

        The other broken one I didn't pursue.

        NB: I have remotes left over - 1 X 4K, 1 X HD. PM me if you want.

      Yeh I am waiting it out as I already have this one… I feel like it would be wasted to get 2.

      It's just like my old Micro SD Cards… as capacities get higher… my older lower GB ones just sit there collecting dust.

    If you have issues with 4K streaming problems over your local wifi, there is a nifty power supply + Ethernet gizmo for the Chromecast. Saved me from grinding my teeth and snarling at the dog.

      Some USB-C hub works with it and you have additional storage for video files.

      The apps on this work far better than the equivalent apps on my 2019 Smart TV.

      Assuming your network connection is within the bounds of what is needed, the Chromecast + TV are adequately responsive. I run Kodi and PlexAmp mostly and have no complaints.

      Although, with the 4K units I ditched wireless networking in favour of ethernet.

        That is probably the better option. Instead of spending $30 on the ethernet adaptor, I upgraded to FTTP on a gigabit plan, plus got a new WiFi7 router. I think the ethernet option would've been cheaper.

          Our house is 4 x Tenda M6 mesh nodes. That's fine for audio and HD video throughout. But I found for UHD wifi got flaky.

    For those that missed out I assume with the new announcement more will be cleared soon. The Harvey Norman two for one was the best deal.
