      Door plugs sold separately?

      • -6

        Butt plugs sold separately?

    • Does it include Floor Mats and Half a Tank of Gas?

      • Floor mats yes, tank of gas no as already siphoned out by Jetstar.

  • Can we really get a bargain from this event? Just for personal use not reselling.
Example.. i need a kobo ereader. Would it be cheaper than hunting on facebook market/ebay ???

Let me consult my crystal ball.

Who knows. One way to find out. My bet is it's like an op shop - overly inflated prices.

      • For full transparency, I think you should declare that your crystal ball was obtained from a similar event.

          And now I practice chromotherapy.

All this garbage goes for ridiculous prices, and is untested.

  • +3

Anything worthwhile is pretty much at RRP prices and yet untested with missing cables and accessories.

Why is buying hundreds of used grimy AirPods for tons of money???

    • wow thank wont waste my time.
the one make money is the auctioneers, as usual.

    • +1

Plus buyers premium on top of it, really boggles the mind.

      • +2

I picked an item almost at random -
Johnny Walker Gold reserve 1lt - current bid $140 (plus buyers premium) Also if you can't pickup then shipping starts at $25.
        Dan Murphy - 700mL - $80 (equivalent to `$114/lt)

        • Absolute bargain 🙄

          • @brendanm: they are in it to make money and some people do not know RRP

    • +1

They advertised on A Current Affair - any wonder every random bidder with no idea has flooded the auction.

I feel for the owners - there's a set of airpods in there belonging to James with a clearly readable phone number on them…

      • Fakes bids too no doubt (like those stupid items on eBay that get a news story and then get bids of $10,000)

Any Boogie Board Bags? Asking for a friend. I hear they sell for $420.

    • +1

Same friend wants to know if there are eighteen packets of headphones.

  • +2

Looked through laptops yesterday, a couple MSI ones I looked at basically same as RRP or getting close and no HDD and untested. Gave up after seeing that and didn’t have time to browse another 13 pages of damn laptops

    • Had a skim through and yeh bids are way too high, and they've ripped the HDD's out of all of them.

I'm assuming they've been drained flat sitting there too so the batteries will have gone to sh!t (same with all the e-readers which all have a flat battery warning on screen)

They have a Cartier Tank for $3,400

There's absolutely no mention that these things are authenticated. How do they know it's not a fake?

You can't cop out of it and say it's being sold "as is". They are selling it as a Cartier Tank, if they sell it and it's a fake, they've sold counterfit goods.

Big red flags on all of these listings. I'd be staying well away from any of this crap.

    • +1

I noticed a few items said "marked as…". I assume it was because of chance of fakes. Yet the bidding is going on.

      • +1

Pretty sure that doesn't let them get away with it.

The onus is on them to make sure they aren't misrepresenting something and selling a fake.

Anyway, no chance anyone who's into watches will be getting these things

  • I was hoping to find some unopened suitcases (like they show on US TV shows!) but don't think they do the same here.

    • But only buy the ones with a bag full of expensive gold jewellery hidden inside a sock for the complete experience.

Gen 2 airpods at $200 right now. The exact same model can be purchased new for $158 from JB or O/W. Why would anyone bid on this?

  • +1

And remember that most consumer guarantees through the ACL do not apply to auctions. You are guaranteed full title, that's it. No guarantee of quality or being fit for purpose. You're pretty much buying from an online garage sale.

  • A collection of Bonds ladies underwear is currently at $40.

    • plot twist, a fat dude with questionable hygiene has been wearing them

  • +2

Why do I get the feeling this is a money laundering scheme. None of these prices make sense.

  • people are way overpaying, typical when sht is on the news it attracts noobs

Just had a look at the clothes section, shipping for 2 jackets starts from $25 and you still need to add 25% for their cut

  • Auctions regularly attract numpties who think they are automatically getting bargains.

Mate used to get 2 pack of handheld UHFs for $52 and then resell them on Ebay for $89 Buy now… was a good earner for while there

  • +3

I don't fly often, but when I do I don't leave home without my Ozito leaf blower

    • I've seen people carrying a weird assortment of items at Sydney Airport - some look like they are taking their complete household goods back for the relatives.

      • +1

There's always an Indian family with a dozen suitcases taking the whole kitchen and they just can't get the bags to shut.

  • +1

If anyone here buys this one could one of their friends/relatives let us know how it works out.

    Lot 4031
A Shark Repellent, Marked Sharkbanz, Untested

    • If we test and fail can we get full refund.?

  • I’ve looked at these before and I don’t get it, some of the items such as macbook Air’s I’ve seen are 10years and going for hundreds above FB marketplace.
I think these style auctions used to be great before the internet.
