I'm not amazing at it - I've won one other 25wol comp before this. I always just enter even if it feels like a crappy entry, because I feel like the 25wol competitions get less entries because it's a bit harder.
I just try to always think of who is hosting the competition, who is sponsoring the competition, what they want to hear and what is relevant in society at the moment.
I didn't think too much about this one, though! I said something along the lines of
"With the interest rate hikes and increased cost of living, I just want to buy a dining table for my home - it's been 1.5 years!"
Who knows why they actually picked this answer, I guess it was a good enough reason without being too "poor me" hahahVery thankful, and very excited to get my dining table haha!
Interesting. That’s a very honest answer well done. The reason most people don’t enter these is because they usually ask for the ‘most creative’ and 9 times out of 10 it’s a poem or a pun or both. I cbf writing poems these days so I stopped entering. But as yours wasn’t a poem perhaps I might just try an honest answer
@kosh52: I have had those thoughts too, what's the point if I don't make it creative. But a basic answer is better than none at all, especially if a bigger company is picking the winners, they might be sick of poems haha.

Anyone know why they list draw times, if it's a game of skill due to the 25wol?
Are they admitting running a draw to narrow the amount of entries to be read/judged, or is it just a generic listing?
